I was sent a usb thumb drive which I used to update the NAV. The maps were updated and my NAV now defaults to VA which is my home state. It used to default to WV.

You must have gotten a better thumb drive than I did. My home state is also Virginia and my maps still default to West Virginia. When I want to navigate home, it goes to Home, West Virginia.

Did you happen to remove the thumb drive before it completely rebooted? Will it let you try to update again?

My set of instructions asked me to check for a new Buffalo Wild Wings in Chicago, IL.

No. I removed it after it stated it was finished. Apparently we had different thumb drives because mine said to check for the coffee shop in Detroit.
