Ummm......maybe because a 45k car should have an engine last longer than 4yrs? Why did the original engine go?

I was just waiting for someone to ask, I have no reason to keep what happen a secret.
My original engine blew up at 10,500 miles. Chevy gave me an option to rebuild the engine or get a new one with a complete power train warranty. I decided to go with a brand new motor so the buyer can have the car with a warranty. Headers and intake was installed at dealership and they specifically said headers and intake will not cause the warranty to be voided!

Expecting someone to inquire about that is just screaming "I have something to hide".

So, why did the motor blow up? Even if its not your fault, it never hurts to say why.

As for headers and intake not "voiding" the warranty, thats possible, but who did the tune when you had the headers put on?

When the motor blew it was very sudden, 2nd gear 60% throttle entering the highway. When it was towed back to the Chevy dealership they told me their was no evidence of WHY it blew, only thing they said was WHAT blew up which was a piston and ring failure.

The headers and intake were installed at the Chevy dealership as well as them tuning it. No check engine light and runs perfect with the reccomended A/F ratio.

Nah , a person not mentioning that the motor was replaced or blew up would be ( I got something to hide ) because they wouldn't want a person to know
