I have a 2013 zl1. For about two months now whenever I plug my phone into the iPod dock connector it'll first try to turn pandora on and fail, then I hit source again it goes to my music library. It'll play my songs for about half a song then just shut off. If I try to turn it back on or unplug it and plug it back in it won't even recognize it. Anyone have any ideas on what to do? Also Bluetooth audio works sometimes but not always hence the iPod connector thing is more of an issue.

I don't have an ipod but I also have a 2013 but it's an SS. Anyway mine will go from Pandora to USB or bluetooth and back again to Pandora in the middle of songs. I wonder if this might be a known issue both of us are having. Hopefully someone will chime in with a cure.

It's a long shot, but are you using a genuine Apple brand USB cable to connect the ipod to the USB port? IITR some people have found that generic USB cables sometimes just don't work when connecting an iPod.

A friend had the same problem using a gas station cord. Switched to the apple cord and it works with no issues.

I had to mess with the settings to get the Pandora app to stop being the auto start app when first plugging in. I forget if its on the car settings or phone settings, but somewhere there is an option to turn off Pandora auto start. After I found that setting, just my iphone music auto starts when plugging in. The intermittent stuff, yeah I'd first try a new cord. Maybe check with the dealer too, there is often revised calibrations. I know on my '15 when I took it in, they recalibrated the radio with the latest calibration that was suppose to fix a whole bunch of things.

I've got a gas station cord and it drives me crazy. Even though the plug is securely plugged in, it will cut in and out of songs from my iPhone to the radio. I didn't know if it was the port on my phone or the cheap cord. It's like the thickness of the metal connector is not thick enough to fit snugly into the connector on the phone.

Guess I'll try a genuine Apple cord next.

I tried a second cord which was an apple cord and it did not work I guess I'll try a third.

To ask a dumb question, are your phone and apps up to date? Out of date stuff can cause issues.

2013.. long time ago for iPhones! if it is up to date, I would check with dealer for software update on your in-dash. I have seen a different thread here mentioning they do have updates for those things. Be worth a shot if not $$$ !
