A photo so I am not a clickbaiter... How pissed would you be after dropping the kind of money this guy did and only had the Camaro for 2-3 days?!?!

That looks like the same one as the unveiling, so that could be Callaway's car as they were out doing some in real life 1/4 mi testing?

I bet the '32 coupe has no insurance. A natural hazard at the drag strip.

If you are at the dragstrip would your insurance cover a crash? What about track day events?
Maybe it's a stupid question but I thought that was a liability one takes upon themselves if they want to race.

If I was in the parking lot, coming/going, I don't think it would be an issue with them. Since I wasn't racing or competing in an off-road event. It would be treated the same to them as someone hitting me in a parking lot of a Target, Jewel, McDonalds. If I went off track, hit a wall, horrible botched a launch and went sideways, caught on fire and burned up (the car, not me), or side swiped the person near me.. It was all not covered due to it being considered an off-road track event. Thankfully though, I've been lucky and have never needed to see exactly where the lines of coverage are in that arena. |

Ouch.... the 32' Ford is going to have to sell his car to cover those costs.

That sucks bad. Does that 32 Ford have an LS based motor? I know a lot of them go with small Chevy's but I don't know if I've seen one with a Gen III motor.
Edit: upon further inspection, I can't tell what it is |

It is best to spend the $200 or so to get specific track coverage. In the staging lanes at a drag strip I would think you are covered.

Looks to me like a big block chevy. Would also explain the amount of damage he was able to inflict with all that torque.

Sucks for the camaro but sucks even more for the dude who owns the '32 Ford lol. Hope he had extra track insurance for that day even then he can kiss his rates good bye.
It is ALWAYS worth buying extra insurance for track events (if you are actually participating not watching). That accident happened on the staging area which means that they were participating and regular insurance will NOT cover that unless you have an extra clause in your contract or other PITA crap to deal with. It is all a headache. Just pay the 200-250 bucks for extra insurance and not deal with it all as shit happens on and off the track. |

So who edited the thread to make it look like I posted this? The crash has nothing to do with the the SC610 product launch. Perhaps the wreck should've been it's only a new thread...
