A good out door car cover?

Its looking like I might have to store my car outside for the winter. Anyone have a good cover for the out side that wont hurt the car/paint?

my understanding is theres no such thing as an outdoor car cover. although manufacturers advertise outdoor use, any debris caught between the cover and the car will cause damage each time wind hits it and moves the cover.

interested in others responses

I've used covers on cars outdoors for years (30+). The key is to spend the $$ and get a high end one (expect $400 or more) and then snug it down tight. The more wind you might expect, the more snug you might wish to go. Covercraft makes some good covers... in the hot Texas sun, we prefer their "Sunbrella" model. That said, if you get severe weather (are you talking snow?) then I would keep the car indoors.

Try Noah Block it, really good quality. The material is made by Kimberly Clark.
It is about $250 and comes fitted so it is nice and snug. I use it and I live in Toronto with my ZL1. Here is the link, just change the model for your car. https://www.carcoversdirect.com/part...1446/materials
There is also a good forum about prepping your car for winter storage, don't waste your money on any "flatspotters, pick up some 3" rigid foam insulation, cut a "ramp" with a utility knife so you can drive onto it and you won't have any issues with your tires.

Keep mine garaged, but a friend stores his car outside with a Covercraft and had no issues with it last winter (loves it! Boston had a very snowy / cold winter).

It's a Covercraft Weather Shield HP. Custom made to fit your car. Cost approx $350-$400. Because of the heavy snow last year, He buildt a small wood frame over it and has blue roofing tarp so the rain / snow will be kept of the car.

^^^^ He's got it.

The Weathershield is the best outdoor cover money can buy. I got the HD version which uses a heavier fabric that provides more UV protection than the HP at the cost of a slightly, well... less-than-gentle fabric. Both of them are breathable and allow moisture to escape, but are also excellent at repelling water. Rain water beads and rolls right off the fabric, although it's not water proof. Water that pools in a spot will wick through after a few hours but not much will make it through. I think the statistic was that only 2% of water gets through to the paint.

The rule of thumb with a car cover is to make sure the car is always clean before you put it on. That will prevent scratches.

+1 for hp weathershield from covercraft. It's a great cover that will keep the car clean and as long as it's clean before the cover goes on will keep it scratch free. I have no experience with snow but I can imagine it would be a great protectant. As stated the most important thing is to make sure the car is thoroughly cleaned before the cover goes on or you will have tons of micro scratches, but no cover no matter what the cost won't have this issue.
