It will lug at low RPM's and bunce off the rev limiter all day if you let it. I hope the Camaro is the same way
For those tests they always let the car shift on it's own, they don't put it in manual mode, those times are correct. Of course you would expect the car to downshift when you nail it at 30, or 50mph.

It appears Ford was only interested in prevailing in the one true component of a performance vehicle.

TRUNK SPACE!!!

LOL!!!

And on a comical note, I enjoy cars, period. I don't car what country it came from, or who made it, but the guys over at the Mustang forum are just so freaking stupid. They are getting their butts kicked by the new Camaro, but it's all a conspiracy, and the low 12's will not be duplicated by real world owners, it's comedy at it's best.

I plan to buy all the camaro reviews/shootout magazines.

Will read each of them once and then put them into a 3 ring binder along with all maintenance receipts & window sticker. Should help a little when selling the car in 10 years time.

C&D Scorecard

C&D's scorecard, closer than most Chevy fans want to see? not that i'm a big Ford fan either. i'm just waiting to see what's on the road 2-3 years from now.

If only they meant anything. All are a personal choice and point system. Stang GT isn't a half bad car, it really isn't. However, actual Racelogic performance #s speak for themselves.

That is lame ass testing on C/D's part. What good is a top gear test if you let the auto downshift? I've never really trusted C/D since the "radar detector ads" fiasco, but this just goes to show the shoddy editing/testing they do. While testing the auto vs PP which is only manual is crappy, a base GT auto would have been painful.

No, the issue is this............as long as you can turn off the Camaro-ness in your head.........the Mustang is a better coupe. Most of the reviews are hitting on this point. It has better visibility, a better rear seat, and YES, a much bigger trunk. Also note that although the Camaro wins on Features, the Mustang also won on Fit and Finish. A lot of people that care enough to go on this site have already discounted the Mustang's margin in this area. But most of the people buying a sport coupe that don't care enough about Camaros to come on this site do care about those things.

I never expected the comparisons would be a unanimous Camaro trouncing of the Mustang, just that the Camaro would be the winner, and thus far that has been the case.

The tell will be if the Camaro can reclaim the sales lead it held for almost all of the last 6 years.

And yes, the Mustang is a pretty darn good car. It just lacks the LT1 HP.

That being said, I wouldn't even consider test driving a Mustang. Camaro means too much to me personally.

I was surprised they ranked the ergonomics as high as they did on the camaro.

I was expecting the difference to be a lot higher there.

However I was expecting the performance score card to be different as well.
