Mid March in Ottawa, today typical with still about freezing but today a little rain, a little snow, a little blue sky. So typical day totally screwed up regarding weather.

Jan, happy reading your posts regarding your Dad. Lost my Dad in the mid 1990s and still miss him every day.

My dead significant other told me 30 years ago if I volunteered for anything else he would slap me back to reality. Thank I need that slap. I enjoy teaching, that is it. This last week I was offered a Director position within a major professional organization. Want to serve...looking for an out not to serve. If I accept this position means much less free time and back to more years of business traveling. Happy being a hermit with my two remaining cats and lots of cable TV channels. Yet, I might except this position.

Yet again this last week approached to tell my stories regarding my design experiences with clients. Regarding books, or a current film documentary, just want to remain private and I regard my past experiences with clients private. I occasionally share my experiences with friends, occasionally hint at experiences on the web, stressful after all these decades people still approach me to name names in their proposed books or film documentaries.

Other than the above, life is good. Cats health maintaining. Auto issues...well I now know more about a battery replacement on my 1966 Bird then my brain can process or I can afford.

This is a late response regarding health care and Thailand.
If today I won the lottery think I would move to Thailand. Been there four times. Yes, hot and humid but so beautiful and people and culture exceptional. Visited twice to shop and vacation plus values great. Twice when it was advised I temporarily get out of the Middle East on short notice due to security issues. Had five cats at the time, we experienced some fine 5 star hotels in Thailand. Cancelled my last visit, would have been my 5th visit, at the last moment due to a premonition. Was suppose to spend X-mass holiday with friends at a beachfront home in Phuket. Two of three friends died during the wave.

Friends in the States tend to think social medical care in Canada great. Yes, my high taxes pay for much of my healthcare and I do have my government health care card. Been in Canada since 2003, twice visited emergency rooms, never paid a dime or had to fill out a form for my healthcare treatments. However, services not as good as you find in the US, if you can afford healthcare in the US. Example: to get an MRI appointment in Canada might take 4 months in the current healthcare system but if you wait you will not have to pay for the MRI. However, one of my cats had a healthcare issue last Nov., I paid out-of-pocket and cat received an MRI within 24 hours. Sad to say I can pay thousands out of pocket to get my cat an MRI on short notice, but with Canada socialist healthcare, I would have to wait months for an MRI for myself.

When I was younger, had cosmetic procedures and no regrets. In the future, if I wanted further procedure's, would not hesitate going to Thailand.

Great news Zandron. Heal quickly & well Zandron & Spike!

It was another busy day in Nashville. Just enough clients did not show that I was able to get all my work done. Getting my company discount on joining the Y is costing me a couple of more weeks getting started on my new routine. All the red tape will push my membership to start beginning of April. I will just have to do some working out at home for a couple of weeks. If the weather holds that will be easy. On yucky days, mat & weights will have to suffice. Our tiny house is not a great place to work out.

I have snow bird friends from Canada that tell the same story.

Make due with what you have Jan. You will feel better in the long run.

I don't consider this a huge goal, but I have reached losing 65 lbs. I've been reporting on 10 lbs losses, but now that my weight loss has slowed, I guess 5 pound losses are the next best goal. I'd like to be down to 210 lbs or less when I fly back to Maryland for my semi-annual work visit and my daughter's graduation. That is 6 weeks away.

As long as it is moving in the right direction Rick, it is all good.

Happy Hump day crew. Gotta get going.

I have that problem with pain meds too. Hope you get to go home. You will rest & heal better there. Keep following doctor's orders & heal quickly.

That you felt up to posting at all yesterday was a very good sign.

Get better soon!
