Tell me how a weak dashboard is going to prevent an airbag from coming out... If anything it might be safer.
And since the dashboard isn't responsible for actually protecting you and isn't preventing anything that is made to protecting you from doing it's job, then it is not a safety issue.
Kinda common sense. Notice that nobody is complaining that they're scared for their lives in case of an airbag issue, they're angry their dashboard doesn't look they way it should.

Once concern I can see is if it becomes a projectile.

Bingo!

Plus, how can you be certain that the only problem is the dash crack and not a retaining clip on the airbag has slightly let loose (or something to that affect). I problem on the outside usually indicated a problem on the inside...

My dealership service manager wants me to bring my car in to look over the crack and take pics of it to report the issue to the GM District Manager. Not sure what that will do, but worth a shot.

Bottom line, even with a 2010 model we should not have cracks on the dash panel, regardless of temperature or regardless if we use sunshades.

Traded my 1996 Sebring LXI coupe with 100,000 miles for my 2011 Camaro back in 2010. Dash and leather seating close to factory new.

Recently sold my 1998 Buick Riviera at 76,000 miles, dash and leather seating close to factory new.

Cracks on 2010 or later Camaro's dash panels totally unacceptable.

See my Post above.
Sold my 1998 Riviera to help pay for a 1966 Thunderbird conv. T-Bird a southern auto 49 years old. Believe or not, T-Bird dash pad factory original and no cracks. Explain to me why a 49 year old T-Bird convertible dash pad has no cracks when others are experiencing dash cracks on 2010 Camaros?

I'll have to say on the tbird that's not common.

My 85 Chevy K10 Dash was cracked all to hell and just about falling apart.

Almost every Ford explorer I see from a certain generation the rear plastic panel on the hatch is cracked in the same place, so GM isn't the only ones with cracking plastic.
