It wouldn't be on a C7 chassis. They are thinking on making a "family" of corvettes and the Zora/Zr1 would be on a C8 platform. (according to this months Motor Trend (page 20)). |

ATS with different engine combinations
2.5L RWD / Auto – (3315/ 1503) 2.0 Turbo RWD / Auto – (3373/ 1530) 2.0 Turbo RWD / Man – (3403/ 1543) 2.0 Turbo AWD / Auto – (3543 / 1607) 3.6L RWD / Auto – (3461/ 1570) 3.6L AWD / Auto – (3629/ 1646) subtract the LFX weight and trans add in the LT4 and 6 speed and all the other components that need to be beefed up.. Might not add up to much savings. |

Even if a 6th gen zl1 comes in at around 3800-3900 that is still considerably less than the current one, throw an lt4 in it with 650 HP and it will be a real contender.

Fair enough, I had forgotten about those two.

Point is ... don't count on a 6th Gen LT4 ZL1 when we could just as easily see a 6th Gen LTA Z/28 They have discontinued something like 90-95% of all the engines they have ever made. Why would the LSA be an exception?

I want to say the same hierarchy will follow with the new ZL1 and it will be a version of the LT4 with a smaller blower, revised heads and lesser internals. But, the ATS-V is getting a TT V6 and the CTS-V will cost alot more money than the last gen V and I think it will use the full on LT4 from the Vette. So that would leave only the Camaro to get a de-tuned version of the LT4 and I don't think that's going to happen either. Then you have Dodge dropping the hellcat bomb. Who the hell knows what GM has up their sleeve.

There were L88 twin turbo rumors right when the first LT4 CAD drawings were found.

Interesting also is that the 8L90 automatic is rated to 738 lb-ft. Leaves a lot of room above the LT4's 650 lb-ft for a monster engine worthy of the L88 name
