Removed Rear Chevy Bowtie, and Found This Under It

I decided to go ahead and take off the rear center chevy emblem, to make way for an other look I'm experimenting with.

This is what I found as seen in the pics.

Basically, I found an itty bitty little dent, smack right in the middle of where the chevy emblem used to reside. Looking at it straight on, you can't see the dent. Only in the angle that we are looking at right now, you can see it.

Car is brand new, hardly driven, now sleeping for the winter. Not really sure at all what to say about this, to be pissed, or brush it off..

Has anyone ever seen anything like this before??

Not sure if it can be fixed painless "dent wizard" way, since it's right where the crease is, OR if I should make a claim at the dealer?

They gave the fixture that applies the bow tie a hell of a push or banged it in when applying. If it bothers you I'd make them fix it. If not and you don't notice it I'd leave it alone. They may also try to say you did it trying to pry off the bow tie depending on the quality of your dealer.

Isn't the Chevy Bow tie put on in the factory? Are they all like that? Maybe that's the shape of the trunk in order to give the bow tie a flatter surface to bond to in the middle.

Actually it does bother me, because I was really planning on putting two S S's in the middle there. No, not the one Sparks sells, you know, the one that is one piece and sits on a plate. Rogers at Emblemspro, was in the process of designing me custom separate S S pieces, hence my taking off the Chevy Bowtie tonight, in slow preparation of the separate S S emblems arrival date.

Now this happening.

I popped mine off. Didn't pay attention to it because I had a body color painted one ready to go right back on.

I thought I remembered some of the early Camaros coming with a hole back there, a little one under the bowtie. Not really sure about that, just thought I remember a post about it. Like just the early 2010's or something.

No dings in mine either when I took it off to put the black vinyl and the SS emblem on.

Yes, the early ones had a couple of pinholes I think. Mine being a 2013, obviously did not.

$40-$50 to fix that dent with my contact, I think I'll go that route. Making a claim at the dealer certainly not worth the effort. Just the hassle and my time is definitely worth more, although the principle of the matter could be used as an argument here I'm sure.

I mostly posted this thread up, so that others can pay closer attention to theirs.
I was also curious if this is a common occurrence or not? Already, post#4, 13blackLS observed similar dent.

I see nothing that makes the dealer responsible to fix this, outside of the goodness of their hearts. The bowtie was functioning as intended from the factory.

There's some guys who have removed thier 1LE hood wraps and have had paint defects. The dealer fixed those so I don't see why they wouldn't fix this. But I would rather have my own dent guy do it rather than let the dealer touch it.

Another option is to put a Sparks SS emblem there. I bought one for the front and rear to replace the bow ties. They look great in my opinion.

True true, but my custom S S emblems from Roger are on their way anyways, so I have no choice now but to fix this dent now. Unless the dent removal dude tells me that he can't do a 100% fix, due to location or whatever else the case may be, although I have a good feeling about this.

Worst case scenario, then yes, I'll have to install a "one piece" SS emblem like the one you suggested, since that would essentially cover it all up, just like the bowtie did before .
