Anyone have excessive brake squeak? Dealer said.ita normal with.the.performance brakes. Something about the pads. Dealer even gave me a memo from brembo saying its normal.

I heard about the 2010's with rollerskates making a squeal and if your brakepads aren't seated properly they will squeal.

I have a bad pad or something on mine. I can see it is already putting a groove in the rotor and it squeaks really bad at low speeds. Plan on replacing mine as soon as possible when I get the extra cash.

Mine squeal too and I was told the same thing from the dealer. It just seams weird that performance pads would squeal. I am thinking about using a vented rotor next time to see it that helps. Good luck keep us updated.

I had brake squeak on my Brembo's. I have 3700 miles on my 2012 2SS. I solved it by lubing the "retainer". I did not remove the pads from the calipers. Only removed the retainer. You just knock out the two retaining pins. I removed the retaining pins and coated them with the attached lube, and also put a very thin coat where the yellow pointer is.

Phess11: How often do you apply the lube to the caliper?

Because I took my 2011 SS/RS in the last week the dealer said the same and even pulled out a tech note that people have complained and the resolution was to do 3 to 4 hard stops to clear the dust out.

This is BS...thinking about complaining to GM...you do not see or hear Porsche having issues? What about Mustangs GT/302 or Challengers?

I don't know how long the lube will last, but I think it should last a long time cause the grease is very thick. It has only been on mine for about 1500 miles so far.

Mine were squealing so bad that I thought I needed new pads. Took it to get new pads put on and thankfully the dudes at the shop were honest and showed me that the pads were fine, they were just caked with dust. Since then I keep a few cans of brake parts cleaner in the garage and spray down the discs/calipers real good and let it soak for 10 minutes or so before I wash the car. Lots of gunk ends up coming out and my brakes haven't squealed once since I started doing this.

I had brake squeal on BOTH of my Camaros (2LT and 2SS). I had the dealer replace the pads multiple times on BOTH cars, to no avail.

The source of the problem is the cheap metallic compound the GM pads are made out of. The squealing you hear at low driving speeds AND while braking is those metallic bits against the rotors.

SOLUTION... Buy Hawks Street Performance CERAMIC pads. I just had them installed on my SS last week, and they are 100% SILENT!!!! And they kick off much less brake dust. Best $240 I've ever spent!

This is BullShit is all I am gonna say. OK, I lied, I am gonna say more. This is an item that should not need constant attention. No other vehicle that I have owned had this issue. And I have had numerous cars with performance brakes, (370Z, WRX STi). And I certainly shouldnt have to go spend 240 dollars on new pads cuz the original pads suck. I havent heard of the Mustang 5.0 with Brembo package having this issue!!!!!

I cant wait to get rid of this car............maybe.

Brake pads installed incorrectly can make noise no matter what manufacturer.

This must be a hit and miss issue with the brakes cause i have'nt had any problems like that with my 2010, knock on wood. I do agree that a new $30,000 + car should not be doing this.
