Interesting... could you elaborate how would this work?

And what purspose does it have?

I was really wondering the other day about that popping sound, sometimes it's really loud with my MRT2 (not that I hate it )

It was explained to me once but I've forgotten the specifics already and don't want to give mis-information. Call Ted if you are interested or PM him on here...or someone else is welcome to chime in if they know the specifics.

I like the pop no idea why you would like to get rid of it.

To save fuel and increase mpg.

On sudden deceleration the computer shuts off the fuel injectors. This sudden loss of back pressure in the exhaust is what causes the popping sound. All cars do it, and is completely normal. The only way to stop it is to have the car tuned.

I'm sure you want the backfire or the POP sound.
Delete your resenators and mufflers and you'll get a whole lot of it

Love the "pop", sounds pretty cool to me. Personally I like it... makes the engine sound mean!

Bingo...that is exactly the explanation I've heard before. As for all those that say they like the pop...to each their own...sounded too much like backfire for me and had several people riding with me say things like...why does you new car backfire like that? I tended to agree that I prefer a nice even growl of the engine while decelerating.

Anyway....I'm happy, all you pop lovers are happy...life is good!!

Mine does it on my stock 2SS L99 drivetrain/exhaust. I'm getting a pair of flowmaster mufflers installed by next weekend. We'll see how that goes.

I actually try to time the "pop" perfectly for when im passing by a popular/crowded place. As if the car doesn't get enough looks already... The mean sounds from the exhaust pop just adds to the street presence. I LOVE IT!

Am I the only one that does this?
