it's not stock style suspension? is it back halved or something?

I should have worded that differently...heavily modified stock style suspension. I think the M6 cars will be able to get a bit faster on stock stuff if some gear options ever become available... they need 4.30's with a 28" tire.

You gotta pay to play.

Can just switch to a 26" tall tire and that's like having 4.10 gears. Less roll out, more aerodynamics, less sidewall.

True that.

26" tire and 3.73 still not enough imo. 4th gen M6 cars always went up to 4.10's with a 26". 4.30 with a 28". Aside from that I think it would be tough to pull a 1.4 60ft on a 26" with a M6 and run a 10.0.

I'm still curious about what table in the stock ecu that still remains locked might sometime in the future be unlocked. I guess they are also able to run more timing with the port injection and the holley ecu.

That's not really an apples to apples comparison. These cars make as much power stock as a 4th gen does with heads and cam. Don't get me wrong... I'm a fan of "don't fear the gear" (I daily drove my 4th gen with 4.30s on 26's and my only regret was not getting 4.56s) but it's simple math.

26's with 3.73, will get you up to 124 mph with a 6000 redline. Hell, with bolt ons, you are already getting close to outgrowing the 3.73's, as there are a few bolt on guys that are trapping higher than 124 mph.

and you can get a 26" tall tire to do a 1.4 60'.... that's not that tall of an order to fill. takes more testing than just a smokey burnout though.

These cars are not from the 70s. They will rev out to 7k without issue. 6600 is the stock limiter. If you do the math, the car will do 134mph in 4th at 6500 rpm. 145 using stock tires. The 26" tire with 3.73s might be good for an average H/C car. But if you actually cam the car to spin higher than stock, you need gears. There's no reason you shouldn't have a cam that will tickle 7500 rpm.

A 4.10 or 4.30 would be amazing for these cars. You would see the M6 cars catch up to the A8 cars in times, no problem.

Look at the dyno graph of a stock car and watch what the power curve does up in upper rpms.... let me know how spinning a stock gen v lt1 to 7000+ rpms works out for you. More rpm does not equal more hp.

you have to have the right heads and intake for it to hold on to power after peak...thats the key

I have seen what they do up top. You won't hurt it running the gear out in a higher powered car. IF you make enough power to trap 135+. 3.73 is not enough gear, period. If you go with heads and cam, it definitely isn't enough gear.

Horsepower in the upper RPMs is meh. But it would be better for the rpm drop if you spin it a little higher.
