Design, meaning its underpinnings. Its tech. It has gone unchanged since it was re-introduced in 2008. Your second point, well, it has to focus on what it is limited to, as FIAT is not investing in new platforms for the Challenger, which has not been updated since 2005. But Challenger is in the consideration set of both Mustang & Camaro purchasers, even to a lesser degree the Charger. So lets discuss the "mission" As it stands, Mustang leads the pack (including reliability per J.D. Power with a 4 out of 5 (Camaro is 3 out of 5)). Challenger leads the pack in acceleration Camaro comes up dead last in interior quality & cargo space. Camaro ties Mustang for ride & handling. So, if we know what the "mission" is for Challenger, what is it for Camaro?

The problem the Camaro has is it sacrifices a lot to get a performance advantage that only shows up at 9-10/10ths. The Mustang and Challenger are more DD friendly and offer more power for the money.
Also, the Mustang and Challenger have no glass ceilings to hold them down and no cars to compete with on the same lot.

Might want to put some bigger windows and a usable trunk in the 7th gen.
Use some high-strength steel you cheap bean counters. Headliners that don't fit, clunking sway bars, A8 shudder matic, crap quality control. The lowest initial quality of all Chevrolets - Camaro. Defective parts? Ship it! I LOVE this car, but I'm not wasting my time going back and forth to the crap service dept (I used to be a Chevy tech, and the reality is much worse than you think) First desired choice - 2019 Camaro SS Current leader - 2019 Stinger GT. Kia and Hyundai are number 1 in initial quality. No. All cars do not have multiple problems. No. 2018 cars are not allowed to have bad pinion seals and front crank seals and clunking sway bars with a fogged up windshield.. Need Camaro, but not its headaches. GM and Chevrolet have both stepped up quality, yet Lansing thinks Camaro doesn't deserve the same quality control effort. Finally, 4500 Camaros a month is not so bad. They are toys by design, not DD's. l

I am in the market for a sport coupe. I am not brand loyal and have owned Mopar and Mustangs in the past. I came close to picking up a 5th gen camaro during the 20% off a few years ago. Then the 6th gen came out and although it had the performance I was disappointed by the looks. I will say the 2016-2018's look like a work of art compared to the 2019 refresh
Here's my main gripe. I went to two dealers over the weekend to look at 1LEs and both were charging dealer add on fees and and market adjustment fees and crap. Seriously, its not like its a GT 350 or Bullitt. The average buyer walks in and sees $47000 for and Camaro and walks away. Both dealers have multiple 1LEs that have been on the lots for awhile. |

Agreed. High price, zero advertising, poor build quailty, and very few advantages over the competition. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why they're in trouble.

I agree, sales suck, the refresh sucks, the Challenger is selling like a bitch like the Mustangs, yeah I would worry also. Lower the belt line, take a second look at the front and rear facia's, give it some room like the ATS coupe, make the base LT1 475 hp, the ZL1 755 hp, put the 10 speed auto in everything versus the A8, take out some content to be price competitive to the Mustang in all models. Yeah I know I am dreaming.. |

What I really find funny, is a bunch of grown men complaining about sales and the other forum bragging about sales as if it effects them personally. Sales figures do nothing to any of us. We bought the car we like and that is all it should matter.

The Camaro is a great car, but the Challenger should not be outselling the hell out of the Camaro for all these months. Camaro needs to change. |

I skipped over most of the mumbo jumbo but I think the obvious is the car is just “ok” looking and getting worse for 19. The challenger keeps upping the anti with performance and marketing. It’s undeniably, any of my friends who aren’t car buffs always comment how the would love to get a challenger. When I bring up the camaro it’s always the same “meh” comment. There just not bringing the excitement in my opinion. Hard to be so excited over a “track monster” when most daily drive there car and enjoy more straight line acceleration and bragging rights. This all coming from a Z06 owner, so def not a troll, just my opservations and opinions.
