No lift shift

I own a 2019 2SS 1LE can someone tell meif this model is equipped with the no lift shift option? I just found out aboutthe feature but it does not mention it in the manual. And also how does it work exactly?

It has it. NLS is active above 5000 rpm at full throttle. So just keep your foot to the floor, clutch in, shift, clutch out.

Common mistakes made are letting off slightly on the throttle or hovering your foot over the clutch pedal and depressing it before you're ready to shift. The clutch sensor is pretty sensitive so it's best to train yourself to keep your foot on the dead pedal until you're ready to shift.

Yes - you have it. Its use in theory is simple. With the accelerator kept at WOT and when the rpms are approaching redline for the SS (or above 5000 rpm for the 1LE) then you shift. You keep your right foot to the floor and use the clutch and shift lever as quickly as you can.

I said in theory as after 45 years of manual tranny driving my muscle memory still wants to twitch that right foot during the shift. The only way you can really appreciate and understand it is to go try.

See this post with detailed info from the Camaro team. As others have stated, your car has it.

It works fine.
Old school jargon called it “powershifting”!

Nope, definitely not "powershifting" which is done by ramming gear changes without using the clutch - very hard on the tranny. NLS requires you to use the clutch but not to remove your foot from the gas while the computer manages engine rpms to complete the shift while staying in the power band. The link posted above has all the details...

I believe the old school term is "flat shifting". At least that's what my pop calls it

Na, we called it powershifting, just like this old racing legend. Always used the clutch, just foot flat to the floor.
Love this guy!

Its magical when you make it happen. For me lots of muscle memory to overcome and even more concentration but I've done it a few times and it's F awesome.

Yup, flat shifting, power shifting and full throttle shifting. Same thing.

Tried it a couple of times in my 2016 SS but lifted off the accelerator pedal when shifting. Never could get the nerve to try it again. Need to try it in my 2017 ZL1 and see how it does!

I wish the SS target RPM during shift would be at 5000 like the 1LE instead of 6400. I don't like banging into gear at 6000 + RPM. I did it once, probably not going to do it again... at least not often.
