K&N CAI for 2018 1SS
Has anyone installed the K&N CAI on a 2018 1SS? Its part #K&N 63-3092 and claims to add an estimated 24hp. Seems like a pretty cheap way to go if the estimates are accurate.
https://www.knfilters.com/cold-air-i...-intake-system Any issues with the install or errors from the computer? Any feedback on what it did for sound and/or performance? Since I live in CA and its not CARB compliant, it sounds like I will need to put the old one back on to pass smog in a few years, not sure. thanks, -Yury |

There are definitely people here who have installed this, though it does not seem to be the "forum favorite" CAI.
As to the claim of "adds an estimated 24 HP"... that is probably true compared to an engine with a really clogged air filter. |

Power or not itd be more palatable if the thing was $100 and not closer to $300 or more. When you spend that much and get no real reduction in IAT or power for that matter, that price starts to sting.

I have used K&N in all my cars over the years so I am a bit bias. The Roto-Fab is the favorite but I am perfectly happy with the K&N. I had to ship it to a buddies house out of state and then ship it to me. LOL I just installed it 2 weeks ago. Commute my car 80 miles a day and it has been perfect.

I installed the K&N blackhawk cold air intake on my 2018 2ss.
No issues or CEL's. The car is a little louder; however, you will hear a whistling sound when accelerating. |

I hate these companies advertising this much HP with an intake.

Considering the somewhat modest horsepower gains from virtually all of the old air intakes, I went with the GM performance model. It is priced comparably to rest of them, looks good, and comes with a tune. Moreover, the GM CAI and the GM performance exhaust together give a nice bark to the sound of my SS without warranty issues.
