Cats or no cats... SLP loud mouth 1 already installed

I am trying to decide between kooks long tube headers with or without cats... I haven't heard a camaro with either setup(besides on youtube)... I currently have SLP's loud mouth axle back exhaust setup... In addition I am having a comp cam setup installed..

What do you guys recommend!

Smells bad without em. I'd go for cats, the sound is raspier anyways, cats sound better.

Go with cats unless you are supercharged.

The car is in the process of being supercharged. I am working with a motorsport company to eventually go with a 2.9whipple supercharger. I am just going with the cam and headers right now until I finish the package.

Cats are fine on a supercharged car if the tuning is right and the power isn't ridiculous.

I'm planning on making big numbers once i finish the build. I just don't want to get cats and then want to remove them in the near future..

I am not a fan of the smell of running without cats. And of course there are the legal issues, especially in California, if you drive the car on the street without cats.

I am about to run cat-less with TSP 2inch headers with Borla Atak exhaust. I didn't get cats just to save the money and put it towards something else. Its really your own opinion.

Yes it is! And the "smell" people complain about is barely noticeable. If you ever had a 60's musclecar it'll bring back fond memories.

With the Loud Mouth axle-back you have no muffler. With long tubes, no cats and no mufflers you can pretty much assume that car will be the loudest meanest car on the planet. It'll be raspy and you'll run very rich so get ready for the smell of some unburnt fuel. Going with high flow cats will help a little to keep the rasp, smell and volume down a little but with no muffler and long tubes it'll still be crazy loud. In the end it's up to you.....can you deal with a car that loud? If that sounds a little to extreme you might want to look into some new mufflers.

keeping in mind, you are not cammed, you do not have headers, and you have stock exhaust.

probably should tell the op that. cuz his setup will be night and day compared to yours.
