Hey guys, finally got the HUD cleaned up and looking crisp. I used a Zeiss lens cleaning wipes, they’re sold at Walmart. Lint/ammonia free. Worked great.

Glad to hear you fixed it and the lens wasn't etched or something. However, IMO the attempt to cover this up instead of coming clean (sorry, couldn't resist the pun ) is reason enough never to use that detailer again, as JKSully said.

Awesome, glad you got it resolved. I still would let the detailer know what you had to do and that the HUD was off. Not sure if your detailer is a single guy or a place with some employees. If it's the 2nd maybe you are letting the owner know he needs to have a chat with an employee... Might be doing them a favor.

I will definitely let the detailer know, he has a couple of employees so I don’t really know who did the interior.

I’m also getting my windshield replaced on Thursday after taking a rock to the middle of the windshield a couple of weeks ago. I’ll have to make sure those guys know the car is equipped with HUD so they can get the right glass in there.

Any drive in the Camaro is not a waste of my time, even if it's back to the detailers.
Not just a matter of principle in my eyes... The manual tells you not to spray anything on it. If the detailer did that, and there is damage, touching it in any way completely removes their liability to get it repaired if need be. Go back immediately with the complaint and let them be the only ones that touch it. Anything that continues to need correction when they're done is still on their dime, even if you have to take elsewhere to get it repaired.

You make a very valid argument, hopefully I don’t have issues in the long term since it’ll be on me at that point.

Windex contains ammonia and I would avoid using on anything you really care about
