6th gen 6SS 1LE 6 piston and ZL1 1LE rear set up on 5th gen

I completed my project recently and thought I would share. I managed to order 6th gen SS 1LE 6 piston caliper which I confirmed will fit our 5th gen set up with no additional mods like the CTS V set up. I’m the rear I used the 4 piston set up off of the ZL1 1LE all that needed to be done is reversing the bleeders and crossover. I could have used the CTSV set up and kept my SS calipers, but I wanted the torch red factory painted set up from the 6th gen. I couldn’t find any paint I liked and wanted the OEM finish. I might be the first that I know of to use the 6th gen parts if anyone else has please post here.

But doesn’t the ZLE have bigger rotors than our GEN5’s??

My 2015 Camaro SS has 14” (355) rotors in front and 14.4” (365) in the rear. Were you able to use the 15.35” (390) front rotors from the 6th gen?

He used the 1LE calipers which take the 370mm rotor. The Gen6 ZL1 caliper takes a 390mm rotor. Unless you're talking about the rears

The front are using 370mm DBA 4000 fit for the ZL1 5th gen. Calipers are 6th gen SS 1LE in the front

6th gen ZL1 1LE in the rear

Do rears require bigger rotors or fit the SS rotors.

I can speak for the rear ZL1 caliper as it is basically the same as the Gen5 SS/ZL1 rear caliper. If the Gen5 rear rotor is used, then there is no problem. But the Gen6 rear rotor may be the same also.

The Gen6 SS 1LE front caliper is basically the same as the Gen5 ZL1 caliper. The difference in the system lies with the rotor offset as the Gen6 SS 1LE rotor hat is different. Otherwise any front rotor spec'd for a Gen5 ZL1 is correct.
