Ideal tire pressure?

All 4 of my tires are between 29-31PSI. Is this okay, and if not How much should I be running on.

Have you consulted your owners manual or door jam placard?

There should be a decal on the door jamb of the driver side that gives you the suggested pressures. A high performance supplement guide will give you suggested track pressures. I would use a good quality gauge to measure pressures. I have found the sensors in the car to not be super accurate. I use a very sensitive gauge for measuring tire pressures for our track car. I can have all four tires on the ZL1 filled with nitrogen down to a tenth of a pound. The TPMS will show a pound or two off over time. I have not tried resetting the sensors yet. My wife’s Volt does the same thing.

The TPMS sensors are more to let you know of a problem, than to monitor accurate pressures...

32 - 35 PSI for street use... Manual calls for 32 or 35... Can't remember at the moment, lol

I like to run mine at 37 psi hot. this gives me roughly 35 psi hot, on a cold day, and around 32 cold, on a cold day.

I have all season tires on mine and at cold startup, I have them set at 33 - 34 PSI. After driving around for a few miles, they go up to about 36 - 37 PSI.

The 1LE and the SS have different tire pressure numbers on the door placard. I would follow the cold numbers on the drivers side door placard.

If you are on the OEM tires use the door placard. If you've changed tires you need to follow the manufacturers recommendation. For the SS, the door placard says 35.

I run mine at 15psi because they are run-flats I only put 15psi in to help create sticky traction. Normally with run-flats I don't use air.

I always go by what's on the door jamb. I have noticed this number creeping up, particularly on American cars. This article suggests that may be due to the Ford/Firestone underinflation plague which also gave us TPMS everywhere. BTW, in my experience TPMS sensors are actually pretty accurate, usually within 2 psi.
So how do manufacturers get to this number?

Is 29 too low? I am trying to counteract the negative effects of winter, such as potholes and poor traction. I am located in NY.
