2019 Shock.

After I found out you can’t modify the 2020+ TCM I picked up this 2019 gem. Actually decently optioned out, and got it for a steal at the dealership. I was going to change it to the 2020 front end, but honestly I like the contrast with this color. I may keep it the way it is.

Congrats!
Everyone has their own opinions, mine is that I love the 2019 front end. I ordered mine because of the changes they did to the front and tail lights. And now, it's a one year off. The 2019 is distinguishable from the 2018 and 2020 which makes it even more desirable to me.

But again, everyone has their own opinions. You can find a plethora of unhappy opinions when the 2019s first came out. That's the great thing about options though, you get to choose and make it your own... otherwise we'd all be driving a crossover/suv from any number of brands that all look the same.

Enjoy the car! Love to see a pic. There is a 2020 Shock running around the Ann Arbor, MI area that I've seen a couple times and the color looks good!

Shock looks great with black front. I have a '19. Like the '20 front end better but not enough to actually do anything about it. Minor stuff to me vs how the car performs.

First of all, congrats on the new car Out of curiosity, doesn't the 2019 and 2020 use the same low torque spec A10 (10L80) with the same TCM? If yes, how come you can tune the 2019 but not the 2020?

GM changed from the T187 transmission control module to the T193 I believe. My plan is a big cam so I need a converter/trans tune.

Congratulations and enjoy the drive and yes I think you should leave the front end as is because it looks good!

Ahh, didn't know that, thanks for the info. Quite annoying, but at least you got a crackable one. Good luck with your plans

Good choice on the year. 2019 is the last good year for modding imo. Not being able to tune the trans really limits the capability of these cars with certain mods....NA heads/cam or Centri FI cars really need converter swaps and trans tuning. The positive displacement supercharger stuff can do "ok" on the stock trans tune and converter.
