Protecting the drivers side bolster

So I'm 5'9" and between my short (but torquey ) legs and my rather "bucketed" preferred seating position, it's not so easy to get in and out of the car causing me to slide on the bolsters as I get in and out. I'm worried the outside bolster is going to take a lot of abuse. Anyone do anything special to protect them from wearing out?

I've been trying to just be deliberate and careful with getting in and out instead of aiming my butt and "dropping" in..

I haven't figured out anything about the side bolster for the bottom but what I do know is when you're getting out be sure and put your hand out on the door frame instead of the side of the seat back. Getting in and out I quickly noticed that that pulls the material out from underneath your lever to fold the back of the seat forward on the top by the headrest. I talked to Chevy about this and they said there's nothing they can do and it's basically a design flaw.

I flip the wheel all the way up getting out it helps me a little with room on the front end.

I have a 2ss with the eject and set the seat all the way back touching the back seat then put my hand on the door frame. Ive tried it without the auton eject but it's too tight. Try putting your seat back.

I do the same thing. I also found that my wallet in a back pocket would catch the bolster getting in the car. Putting my wallet in a side pocket helps eliminate that problem.

Lol. I hate waiting for the 3.5 seconds for the electric emergency brake, I'm too impatient to wait for the seat to move. I got youtube videos to watch!

I just kind of vault myself over the bolster and make sure I don't wipe my ass with it.

Buy an extra set of seat cover upholstery...Jump in and out without any concern or daily torment and a few years down the road when it lets loose simply replace it..By the time you replace the second cover you'll need more than the seat..

Before getting out put the seat all the way back. It helps when you get back in.

I roll out on the way out... meaning my right foot hit the ground first.

You mean the Exit Position setting for the power memory seats? lol

I'm on the taller side (6'1") and keep my seat either all the way back or very close to it (I honestly don't know for sure). For exiting the car, my left leg goes out and foot gets planted then I use my right hand on the wheel and right foot against the tunnel for leverage to stand and exit at the same time. If my left hand touches anything, it's definitely something metal on the car and I do not push off against the seat.

The seat covers on the 2SS are going to show wear no matter what, so I'm really just trying to minimize it as best I can.
