Default the rev match to on? (Achieved!)

Just in case I missed something, is there a way to default the rev match to on when you start the car? It is really annoying when you downshift and think it's on... and it's not.

If not, does anyone know if the button wires on the wheel are discrete signals or do they just go to a CAN bus to go through the clock spring?

If they are discrete, I will do like I did on one of my other cars where I always wanted to turn something off on startup and create a circuit to simulate a button press once the ignition is turned on..

I hear you, it sucks that settings can't be saved for the next start up. I am just thankful it is literally just one button to press. I got used to pressing rev match immediately after hitting the push start button.

Signal goes thru CANBUS to the BCM, no way to default it on. Been tried since the feature came out in 2016 on the 6th gens.

So it's on the CAN bus in the steering wheel before it passes the clock spring?

Guess I could just take it apart and look myself.

Is it too hard to pull a paddle to turn it on every time? It’s not like something that’s buried in the settings menus.

Next thread: “How do I make the car start for me when I sit in it?”

It's not really about the act of doing it, but the results when you don't. For consistency sake, it's totally worth it...at least for me.

I've already made it so I don't need a key fob anymore. Don't tempt me.

Very easy to press, not always easy to remember.

I paid the $20 to log into ACDelcoTDS to look at the wiring diagrams for the 2018. This statement is not correct.

The signal is a discrete signal to the BCM. It will be trivial to make a "turn rev match on on start" module. It is next on my list of projects.
