Stock intake difference
Was reading an article that made it sound like that there was a difference between the regular ZL1 and the 1LE. That the 1LE had a bigger intake opening and was able suck in more air for the motor. I thought the difference was just in being able to cool off the motor quicker.
While waiting for my car to be built since the plant is closed I have been going back and forth with try to get a killer deal with a left over 19ZLE or just keep my order on my 2020 regular ZL1. After reading all the ZLE VS ZL1 posts I am very torn now |

If GM was in the game they would make an ZL1 1LE specific intake, sell it for 300.00, watch the world upgrade intakes, make a profit. What do I know.

The different “intake” is referring to air intake through the front of the car for additional cooling. NOT engine air intake.

This is correct in that the upper and lower grilles flow more air than the OEM ZL1. I swapped mine and paint matched them. If you dont drive in snow or through lakes, when you drop the bumper, remove the snow ingestion cover around the OEM airbox inlet behind the headlight. Car will boost faster, although its mechanically limited for peak boost of course being a roots, still makes it a peppier drive.

For the 1LE, the supercharged LT4 engine does breathe slightly better thanks to optimized grille and intake openings that gulp in 106 cubic feet more air per minute than does the regular ZL1’s front end.
Got that from car and driver. The ZL1 VS ZLE diffrence. |
