Flex fuel now working on 16&17 model years.

ZZP made the announcement a few days ago, and after some trial and error I have confirmed it is working in HPTuners with the latest Beta release!!! Still pin 70 on the X3 connector.

Fricken finally, HPTuners just needed that final push haha. Super excited about this, no more mixing fuel etc.

We've updated the instructions to reflect the pin for the 16+ cars, but if anyone has any questions regarding the kit, wiring etc let me know!

I have so many questions about this. Just to clarify a few things:

Do you need to compleatly re-tune the car for the kit to work? Is it just plug it in and go?

Will the car automatically adjust to any type of fuel mix?

Will the car see HP gains on it's own automatically with E or an E blend?

Yes, the car needs to be tuned VERY differently for running E mixes. Even things like start up, and cold cranking will need adjustments. The car will adjust for ANY mixes, yes, as long as the tune is set up properly for it, and as long as the fuel system can handle the blend. Third question is Yes, but once again, that's assuming the tune is set up properly for flex fuel. I can not stress enough, the tune needs a TON of adjustments to do this correctly, and safely!!! But when its done right, you have just added yourself a nice little safety net for your 2.0T, and a decent chunk of power.

Cooper your answer was a little cryptic. Do I need some special unlocking even if I can go in and play with my flex fule tables in "hpt' ? I have option boxes for external adapter fitted choices an whatnot. Also I found out that some one locally may be dealing VP fuel in a town nearby. Would like to look into it.

Wook, no special unlocking needed. Just the sensor, the latest HPT Beta, and set up your sensor table like so...

It Can't be that simple. Can it? Am I missing something? was it that the 16-17 didn't have this tuner option and needed to be like coded or some such?

I guess I should check with Tyler but is the harness connection/instructions Very clear on how to connect on E80A?

I been looking at this tab for months, but b/c we are a dry state hadn't given it much thought. But I might have a lead on a local source of E85 jugs. I understand you can only dose half gas and half ethanol b/c the injectors were not planned for squiriting the equivalence volume of fuel at pure E85. Definitely considering getting the hookup though.

E50 is about the max for most guys. There are ways to run more, but I won't confuse the conversation with that. I do highly suggest guys running a blend, to go ahead and pay the 2 extra credits in HPT, and gain access to the LPFP tables, and tune those. Depending on how the tune is set up, even E50 can be very taxing on the stock fuel system, especially the LPFP. The VERY LAST thing you want to do to your LTG, is drain the fuel rail at WOT..

didn't even know about LPFTP tables. so its not on the os upgrade menu, or wasn't last time I checked.? WM system still looking strong since it will cool the intake and I only plan to work it so it taxies in a limited window. Given 10 degrees of cool will yield some percent of gain, some say 10F to 3hp for NA.... curious. What say you?

I'm wondering how this will play with port injection when ZZP has it ready.
