Latest atf for A8

Anyone know where I could buy the newest version of the atf that everyone has been saying fixes the A8 shudder? I need to change the fluid but would rather do it myself than pay a dealership.

I’m sure i would have to pay as my cars warranty has definitely been voided. Lol

mobil 1 LV ATF HP. Amazon, Summit, and Jegs has it.

That being said, I haven't had mine done yet but my local dealership acted like being modded didn't matter since it is a known problem and it doesn't need to be diagnosed per the lastest TSB.

This is what they used in mine after a tranny service back in Sept. and is also what is being stated in the current TSB last I knew.

Gotcha. I still have some of the original stuff from when I changed it the first time. Just wanted to make sure I get the latest and greatest version.

Assuming the grey label is the old stuff, and the blue label is the new?

Don't these transmissions require pumping through extra fluid in order to change the fluid? Or, am I misunderstanding how it works? How does anyone DIY that?

...it's beyond me how to DIY it. But you can still get the fluid though. lol ...Maybe some people have good resources and/or connections and may be able to have access to a DT-45096 TransFlow Cooler Flush Machine?

Here's a pretty good video on how to change the ATF fluid at home. Though it won't get it all out. Pretty sure you need the machine to fully flush it.

you should have the dealer do the TSB flush. it requires 20qts (around $300). Do you have a flush fill machine? doing it by dropping the pan and filling would be a major pain and waist of time and money on something the dealer will do for free. here is how its done

You don't drop the pan to drain and fill the fluid on these 8l90's. There are videos out there how to do it yourself. It's still a PITA either way.

Thanks for the updated info... I have an 18 2SS Convertible with ~7K miles and will present the TSB to my dealer at my next (last) "free" oil change.
