+1 for valentine 1. I've had it for several years over several cars. I'd argue with you that it's saved me several times.

Escort iX. I like the Escort App that provides an interactive map which shows you the location of the trooper once you get an alert.

It also is tied to other users that may have driven ahead of you and shows the location where they received an alert just in case a trooper is spotting.

Another vote for the V1. Recommend pairing it with the V1 Driver app for GPS lockouts of false signals. http://www.softronix.com/v1driver.html

WAZE is always a good idea for an extra layer of coverage.

After running several different detectors I've settled on the R3. I love the range and reliability. Get a Blend Mount and you're set!

As a long term Escort guy, I purchased a Uniden R3 due to the reviews and couldn't be happier. It's dead quiet until it's needed and has GPS so it can remember the false signal locations, I'm planning on phasing out my other two Escorts with these. As said get the Blend Mount, pricy but tier 1 product. -> https://store.blendmount.com/blendmo...ies-p4029.aspx

Uniden R3. The distance it can detect at is incredible, dumped my other 2 Escorts. Also saved having to buy a blendmount, the extra mount it came with puts the detector just below the rear view mirror where I ran power to it.

Interesting thread. I heard most detectors and the radars are made by one company these days...making $ on both sides.

Uniden R3. Used to have a Redline, was unusable once BSM was common. The R3 has great range, few falses, and does not require use of a separate phone app.

The version coming out with arrows in the next few months is the R7. See objective comparisons from https://www.vortexradar.com/

After getting fed up with all of the BSM falses on my very old Escort, I was about to pull the trigger on a new Escort radar detector, but the $650 price tag caused me to research the decision. I ended up going with the Uniden R3 becasue of all of the positive reviews and testing. The range is incredible, and Uniden keeps updating the firmware with new features and controls. The support and updates from Escort is no where near as proactive as Uniden.

Following some great advice on RDForum.org and vortexradar.com and using the recommended settings for Ohio and neighboring states, the R3 is very quiet. Based on this, I may consider upgrading the the R7 if is anywhere near as good as the R3.

The Uniden R3. There is a really good youtube channel that walks you through all the best radar detectors on the market. I would deff take a look and see which one fits your needs.

Here's a real good deal on another Uniden that's close to the R3. If you don't have the budget for a 4~500 hundred dollar top end unit! The Uniden DFR7 gets good reviews on Vortex Radar and RD Forum.org

$129.99 with free shipping from BuyDig (a very reputable online retailer)
PROMO Code RADAR (IN ALL CAPS)

Uniden DFR7 Super Long Range Radar Detector with GPS
