Finally upgraded, loving the 2SS 1LE!

I finally decided to upgrade from my custom ordered 2019 3LT RS, to another custom ordered, brand new 2023 2SS 1LE, in radiant red. It feels at home being in a very similar interior but with the V8, magneride, and overall more sporty feel, its a great feeling.

I loved my V6, but I had to get a V8 before they were gone and I am glad I pulled the trigger. I made this little video to show it off and reveal it, while practicing my videographer skills. I have been a photographer for a few years, but brand new to doing video so hopefully it doesn't suck too bad lol.

Happy to join the 1LE fam!

Already blacked out the sidemarkers (brought my diode dynamics LED markers over from my previous Camaro) I have added a rockguards, dashcam, amp/subwoofer, and I have an AWE Touring Exhaust to be delivered tomorrow. Tint is also going to be added soon. Feel free to suggest any other mods or add ons! I do plan on keeping warranty for a little bit though.

Congratulations! I had the same upgrade path, had a manual V6 for 3 years and loved every second of it. SS 1LE was always my dream attainable car and I definitely notice the performance difference and not just the engine.

Only recommendations are rock guards (I really like my Rockblokz, covers those wider tires really well, no drilling/adhesive and stainless-steel hardware) and front PPF if you're planning to keep the car for a long time. It's definitely an upfront cost but it's provided me a lot of peace of mind for future road trips and track days.

I added a skip shift eliminator (big help as my low-speed driving would always trigger it) and catch-can as well but I won't start the CC debate.

Enjoy the car! Look forward to seeing more updates!

I added rockguards, my first mod actually. I totally forgot to put that on the post, i'll do that now. I am only at around 600 miles right now but I can't wait to get past the break in period.

Congratulations! Beautiful car! You are going to love the 1LE.

In addition to rock guards side skirts also help keep all the road debris that the wide and sticky tires throw up on the car. I have ACS side skirts on my 1LE. You can get them in 1LE black to match the other satin black pieces on the car.

Another mod to consider is PPF. I have it on the front facia and the side mirrors. It's not cheap, but it adds another layer of protection.

Finally upgraded, loving the 2SS 1LE!

My story is similar. Came from a fifth gen v6 and am so happy with the upgrade. I have bought every oem suede interior piece (wish there was a suede “left” arm rest) and the same side markers as you for my 2SS 1le. I got the zl1 addons rock guards and tint (20% all rear, 35% doors, and 50% windshield is my “sweet spot” suggestion). Just waiting to get those acs side skirts and maybe headers and exhaust in a year or two. Oh and I have an old cursive black 1969 “Camaro” fender emblem coming today because the silver one it came with looks tacky to me.

This was a massive upgrade, congratulations

The retrofittable OEM suede left armrest does exist, it's called a ZL1 door panel, a bit pricey, but if you really want it...

I went with a 35% rear, 35% side, 50% windshield tint and it's plenty dark for me, maybe even as a default recommendation, but of course everyone has a different taste.

Did you consider the 6th gen Camaro fender badge (that is a actually 5th gen part, see here)? IMO the body lines of this modern Camaro aren't the best match for the cursive old school script badge.

I did consider that. Had it removed from my original order after I committed my mind to the black script version. I think it looks great! I posted it in the “what did you do to your 6th gen today?” thread. I can’t go to the ZL1 door panels because my OCD would kill me for having red stitching in a grey stitching car.

Thank you guys!

I am considering side skirts, but still debating. PPF is just too expensive for me to want to bother with it. Its a daily and I expect rock chips and scratches eventually. While I do want to keep it nice for car shows, I don't expect this to be some low mileage garage queen or immaculate show car that I want to sell for a profit in the future.

I will do my best to keep her clean though.

At least consider doing the front end and the mirror caps. It only takes one dump truck or bro dozer on the highway, and your paint will be destroyed, the clearcoat is super soft and brittle.

My PPF has caught 5+ visible hits that were too deep to self-heal (beyond the likely tens of small ones that disappeared in the sun), but it did protect the paint. At times I even wish I had gone with a full body wrap, because a nasty one hit the roof juuuust above the windshield. I touched it up as best as I could, but it isn't invisible... which is fine, it's a "battle scar", yet I wouldn't want the front to be completely peppered with rock chips. My paint color was discontinued years ago, getting an exact match is next to impossible now.

What shown in the pic is stone chips on the rear quarters where PPF should have been.
The car is dirty but most are chips.
The majority of the damage was caused by the factory Goodyears and sh!t PA roads. Once I swapped to the Continental Extreme Sport Contacts the stones that flew were greatly reduced. These are fresh DWS's which also don't abuse the quarters with trash.

^^^^

I got PPF installed on mine last week (front bumper + partial fenders + left & right rockers). For the rockers, they removed the small factory piece in front of the rear tires in order to cover the whole rocker without a break.

Another vote for the DWS. Switched to them with less 200 miles on the car and have been very happy with them since. The factory Goodyears will tear up your paint especially if don't have PPF and rock guards. It's funny because you can hear the Goodyears slinging the rocks against your car as you drive . I would have switched for that alone.
