Front Deflectors 2017 SS Camaro
Does anyone know what importance the two small rubber deflectors play on the 2017 SS Camaro? They are in front of the front wheels. Have read they seem to get in the way and drag on high spots on the road and drive ways. Does it hurt to take them off? What is there functionality? They are held on by 5 small screws. Any information would be appreciated.

They are what you said, deflectors for air under the car, some people remove them no big deal.

IIRC, I read they funnel air around the tires. I'd imagine that unless You commute at 170 mph , you should notice little difference with them removed.

I took them off the day or so after delivery. Whatever they do, I'm not concerned, on a daily driver. For me the car looks much better without them. And that was my priority.
They are attached with 7mm body screws on each side, easily bolted on and off. |

Lower air dam is for aerodynamics and fuel economy. If you don't care, take them off, it won't break anything.

I like the look of mine but they do get in the way of ramps and low driveways.

I like them because they tell me when I'll have an issue getting driveways before I damage my splitter. But yeah...they're for aero.

I took mine off when I installed my winter setup (wheels and tires) for better snow clearance. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Thanks for the picture, it makes much more of a difference than I expected. Now I'm not sure if I prefer them on or off. Although mine looks different anyway since I don't have the splitter like the Fifty.
On this subject, are they still including an extra "track" set of these deflectors with the 17's?

My 1LE doesn't have them so I will assume they are not needed to "improve" performance per say.
