Check out the z/28 cai as well. You can check out the Just installed the z/28 intake thread just down from this thread.

With the exception of the fasteners/ screws that secure the lid to the CAI it is IMHO outstanding in every way . If CAI just changes the system /screws they use to secure the lid it would then be PERFECT

OK, I'll bite. What's wrong with the screws?

I watched a show where they installed a CAI on a v6..the screws were a 1/4 turn tight and 1/4 turn to loosen....the guys doing the install really liked that feature. Maybe it was a 1/2 turn. And they didn't fall out.

Ya, They're Dzus fasteners. They hold motorcycle fairings on. They seem to work OK to me.

Ok so now i have a whole picture. I will not buy K&N for sure but I am stuck to pick one of those already mentioned.
personally I would buy stock Z28 cai if I found one for cheap.
If not, then I will go for CAI as it shows the best power gain values.

Thank you All for your help!

They are a very small size either hex or torque head ( I forget witch ) and it is a PITA to line up the lid to get the screws to grab and secure the lid. Other than that the CAI is a fantastic unit. It is a minor annoyance since you don't have to clean the filter very often.

Correct! They are a pain in the ass. I wrecked two of them because I could not feel them ever catch. I am used to 1/4 turn fasteners since I use them on race cars all the time. These are just a smaller version.

I could not tell anyone if the power changed, but I LOVE the sound! I did the scoop also and bottle relocation. Took a few hours, wasn't bad.

Mine uses a flat blade screw driver and I have no issues lining the lid up to the holes

Mine has flat head screws. three out of four times it's a PITA! The fourth time, they go in perfectly. If I'd quit finding reasons to take the dang thing off then it'd be a non issue.
Great intake!

Not sure if they're exactly the same size but you could try these. Next time I have my car and bike in the same location I'll try to see if they are the same size.

I wish they would have used the "normal" 1/4" Dzus fasteners like my SLP stuff has in my 3rd Gen F-Body intake and my 2001 Silverado intake, that stuff is a piece of cake. Good think I don't need to take the cover off for quite sometime, gets very few miles put on it.
