Your mileage will suffer a bit but, I think there are far too many benefits to running E that are hard to ignore. Nevermind the extra power, there are also additional cooling effects from ethanol that will help out on track, too.

Does anyone cut a tank of 93 with a couple gallons of Sunoco 260GT or something? Seems like it could add some octane for knock resistance while not having to tune for it or dealing with octane boosters.

I did that in my old turbo car. Worked great and just a few gallons would bring it up to ~98. Only avail around me at Sebring and Daytona.

In places where it wasn't available, I used Torco. Orange plugs perform the same as white ones.

I don’t drive the car that often, so I was thinking about just keeping a few pails in the garage and putting half (2.5 gallons) in with every fillup.

You had a good experience with Torco?

I understand ill get worse gas mileage but at the same time I'm fine with using E85 for track days and then Just putting 91 in it any other time. I'm just wonderin g if the fuel system can handle going e85 or if I'm going to be running out of fuel.

I ran 100 octane mixed with 91 when I first bought my ZL1, but then I got a flex fuel sensor and tune. The car gained about 90hp at the wheels by just running a mix at e50 (the stock high side pump can't support a higher amount of ethanol safely due to volumetric flow rate limitations). I've run both setups on the track. Given the cost of 100 octane, this setup costs less in the long run.

When I go to a track day i bring 10 gallons of E85 to keep the mix when I need to refuel.

The car runs much smoother on a mix of e50 than with straight 91.

I can't recommend a flex fuel kit and tune enough for the LT4 given the bang for buck and increased engine smoothness especially if you live somewhere out west where 93 or 94 octane isn't available at the pump.

I use an app called gas buddy to find gas stations that offer e85 and mix about 60/40 e85 and 91 at the pump and use the proflex Bluetooth connected app to let me know the mix I'm running (no additional gauges to have to bother installing).

Performance with the Torco was great. Over the course of 4 years, I probably used 30 cans of the stuff. I changed plugs once a year and while they were noticeably discolored, that was it. UOA (Blackstone) never showed anything weird from use. I had a catted downpipe and it did fine.

That was in a DI Turbo motor. Not sure if folks who have used it in a LT4 have had different experience.

RUN E85

I have run E85 in my daily driver/track car for the last three years. Thats by far in my opinion the best solution for you assuming you have the ability to bring some fuel with you. On the average I burn 6 gallons of fuel for every 30 minute track session. I typically bring 27.5 gallons of fuel WITH ME in addition to filling up PRIOR to me driving to the track. At the TRACK I will ALWAYS add fuel once I get between 1/4 and 1/2 tank full. So basically I am adding a 5 gallon jug of fuel after every 30 minute track session.

Since I run a big NA LME 416 CI motor with roughly 14:1 compression I also run it when I daily drive the car. The car NEVER overheats or gets above 210 degrees even when VERY aggresively driving the car at the track or even when I am towing my 750 pound total weight loaded track trailer WITH the car on my trips to the track.

The effective octane range of E85 is about 108-110 and it MOST definitely has a cooling effect This is even More important when running a boosted car .

I DO HAVE decent availability of E85 in my area so that certainly is a factor,

I have an AEROFORCE gauge that tells me the quality of the E85 fuel that I am running. Typically my E85 fuel I purchase at the pump (KROGER) is REALLY E80. There is specifically one station I used on one occasion where it was really E70 so I dont use that station anymore. Currently with fuel discount I paid 2.10 a gallon for E85 just yesterday at my local KROGER. VP Racing sells E85 (called C85) that is basically TRUE E85 if you are having issues with the quality of the E85 at the pump in your area. Here is a link to VP C85:

https://vpracingfuels.com/product/c85/?c=215&

On a side note I DID HAVE a Zl1 1LE 2019 A10 for about three months PRIOR to obtaining my highly modified 2019 A10 SS 1LE. With E85 and an AMP tune we made right at 650 RWHP on an otherwise basically stock Zl1 1LE set up.

Sounds to me like the benefits out way the inconvenience of bringing a few gas cans. You may want to take a run out to Torco in the SE Valley and grab some of their T85. According to their website it's the good stuff! On the advice of my tuner I'm running their 100 octane 50/50 with 91 pump puke in my N/A LS3 C5 Z06. Problem with all of the octane boosters is you're just adding octane to crappy, inconsistent fuel. Curious, are you quiet enough for AMP or just running elsewhere?

Anybody that tries to make a claim or argue against running E85 really has no understanding of the benefits it brings to the table. If I didn't have it in my area, I would simply order it by the 55 gallon drum and mix a few gallons at a time to stretch it out. It doesn't take much to spice up the Mixture. Even E30 is a massive improvement over 93 pump gas for these cars.

This is very true. I recently ran a tank of 93 thru the car. So it made 650whp vs 740. At WOT I could really feel a difference. Very noticeable. I was very surprised how much I could tell it.

The AMP that I made reference to is Advanced Modern Performance NOT Atlanta Motorsports Park.

As of right now, I can't pass sound at amp (headers/borla s-types and cat delete). But I didn't pass stock either. Which sucks cause I'm literally 5 mins from that track. I may try to fab up so.e cheater pipes over the summer. Till then I'm usually at Wild Horse.

Our AMP is Arizona Motorsports Park and they have a 96db sound limit so you don't disturb the jet pilots at the AFB nextdoor. LOL!
