To gain confidence in the tires, practice hard braking in heavy rain. You’ll be surprised how well they hold.

The goodyear supercar 3 gave me an oh shit moment or two in standing water. I suggest getting off highway in downpoor...i happened to be 50 miles to the next exit travelling cross country, so not much choice but to put the flashers on and watch the big rigs pass me.

GS3's definitely hydroplane...white knuckle moments in the rain that I hadn't experienced in the SS.

I have a family member who is a service manager at local chevy dealership and he recommended I switch to Michelin pilot sport all season, I believe it was. He said they were perfect for spirited driving.

The goodyears hydroplane bad, I live in south florida where it rains 50% of the time. I would get them again though as I liked everything else about them except the price.

Yep, keep it slow in the rain regardless of tire specs. One time, while accelerating to merge I felt the car briefly lose grip. I let off the gas and all was good. Just a little reminder of the power that's sitting under the hood.

Surprisingly, my Michelin Sports have help up ok during these Prescott Valley, AZ. monsoons this year. Then again, I'm keeping it real when it comes to keeping safe speeds

To properly answer your question, heck yeah, those tires suck in the rain. New 2SS owner and experienced the exact same thing.

I agree watering the street isn’t gonna make it grow anymore As for tire tread I am sure it does. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

FYI, the snow/ice driving mode only deadens the response of the gas pedal electronically to help keep from spinning your tires. It doesn't do anything for rain at all.
You actually just have to slow down. |

Drive mode isn't going to do a thing that you slowing down won't do. My SC3's hydro'd on me and I wasn't used to that kind of thing at all and I just slowed down, 70 in the right lane and I was fine.
