My '18 looks better than any Camaro I've seen & that's why I bought it. The '19 Camaro's even suck!!! |

It may be just me but, I still think they should go with a smaller, modernized version of the 3rd gen. The low height, hatchback and potential to have some very interesting modern suspension ideas would be fantastic. Just don't make it look dead-on like a 3rd gen, obviously but, modernize it. I know people have their reservations about a hatchback design but, stinkin Kia of all people demonstrated how it could still work and work well on their Stinger. That would utterly decimate the complaints about the trunk opening and of course, take the place of where the Corvette has been with trunk openings for generations--especially with the C8 on the horizon.

Seldom see a Gen 3 on the road or at a car show. Most were "rode hard and put up wet". No longer have my mullet to go along with the style. Heck, no longer have hair on top at all!

The funny thing, when I got my 428, I noticed the rear window was just as tiny as in my G5 camaro, tiny, because the radically sloping back of the GC didn't leave much room. That's what you pay for having neat looking lines on the car, that car had high sills too, not as high as the G5 or G6, but still pretty high, same with the hood. That's where you get those cool looking "coupe" lines. Cars like the Aston Martins and others have similar issues and no one is throwing a fit and in may cases these Camaros are outperforming them. The car is made to maximize performance, which is why many of us bought it. That small trunk opening is a compromise due to laws about where the lights go, but also to increase body rigidity, which is off-the-charts good on this car. You can always make something better eventually, but many of the complaints get a little ridiculous. On some cars like porsche's, the front slopes away fast because there's no engine there and they can keep the CG low while still having a pretty upright car, that's just not a reality for most cars obviously. Mustang does better, but still has a long snout and higher sills than past years, and it looks more upright and less sporty, it's definitely gotten much much better with the current generations, but the last two were absolutely ridiculously bad performers in the sports car scene, poor suspension, chassis, etc. There's always going to be some compromise for car intended to go fast and seat two people. That's part of what makes it fun and unique IME.

I'd love to see the next gen have a fastback design similar to the Avista.

I drove my son's 17 RS to the Tupelo dealer ( I-22), this a.m. warranty work ( 1st 27 pt check, tire rotation, oil change) and do get transmission flush for the infamous A8 shutter. I have had many Chevelles and Camaros in my life and the visibility issue is overblown in the Gen 6, if you know how to use mirrors. It's a sports car for goodness sake. They offer vehicles with a bigger windshield, back glass, higher off the ground, etc. They are called pickups and SUV's. I would admit to wanting to be able to rest my elbow comfortably out the open window of the Gen 7, however, as God intended!

I think it would help the brand tremendously to leave that portion of their heritage behind and move forward into the future--lest they want to experience the demise of the platform, yet again.
