Glow tie vs flow tie

So I have a SS 1LE in Night Fall Gray, I got a great deal on it off the lot and I really want black badges, the rear is easy, a black badge. On the front tho I could go with the light up "glow tie" I think it is kind of cool but also kinda sticks out to much... can it turn on and off or just with the DRL's? If I just went with a regular black badge I would really like the ZL1/Z/28 flow tie, I have read as it is integrated into the grill you need to remove the bumper to replace the whole thing however I broke my lower grill this winter so if I need to replace that could I get the upper grill replaced at the same time?
