I was already pretty confident that the piston ring gap was the true cause behind people popping ringlands... There are a ton of guys over at performancetrucks.net that have been running up to 1000hp on stock blocks/internals (well maybe spings and cam) once they filed down the rings a bit. Though those guys were the LS based motors when a 4.8 v8 can push 1000hp on stock internals once the rings are filed/ their cave point was around 600hp as well (prior to filing the rings).... Just makes me think....
He is...Laynlo is a trainwreck waiting to happen.

Kidding, I love giving him a hard time. He’s essentially running over 700rwhp on a stock car with the Magnuson, Upgraded fuel system and drag pack. Thing is he ran all last year at 670rwhp with just alky injection. Low 10’s wasn’t good enough so he pushes on. He’s so close to 9’s now that you can see the illness overcoming him.

This makes me so happy. Is there anyone else that is running this high on stock internals?

I think he has demonstrated if you are safe with your tune and you make sure to supply enough fuel, the stock LT1 can go a long way.

It’s also a testament to what the entry level Magnuson can do. . .just by changing pulleys.

Man you are getting educated on the Maggie, I'll be calling you before long for info. Actually Russ has a pretty good back ground in racing. He is having fun with his new found power we added to his Vert. I know he has a bunch of stuff we need to do to his car in the future. Russ thanks for your input, yes I'm a little crazy but I'm 66 years old and I've been doing this a while and yes the tune makes all the difference in the world and I have to thank Mike (toohighpsi Pres. of Magnuson) for all my ventures in making hp. He's the best tuner I know and he's helped me build a killer ride out of a bad ass street car. I owe everything to him for my wicked SS. Thanks Mike and it helps me to pass along my info to other Maggie owners and I'll keep helping everyone I can to make as much hp as they want.

Jenetty has a customer that has been making 760whp sbe for 2yrs or so now. There is a gal on Facebook that has been 800whp for 20,000 miles and still going strong. These engines will handle some power with correct fueling. most blow up running the stock fuel system on edge.

I assume the cars you are referring to both have cams to support the fuel needed? I think it might be more fair to say Laynlo has the most for stock internals. Again, “because he’s crazy.”

Can i just order a OEM LS3 crank seal and it will work no problem? I am about to have a blower installed and i want to bring them the seal to make sure a Ls3 one gets installed. Only going for mid 500s to the wheel but i want to make the car as reliable as possible

That and they are inferior. My front actually pushed out at 13 lbs and the rear 16 lbs. I may have originally stated that wrong now that I think back about it. My bad.
