anyone try an "aftermarket" coolant *ie water wetter/ vp stay frosty?

As the title says, I remember tracking my motorcycle back in the day and you had to run a water base coolant for the track. I've tracked my zl1 a decent amount of times but never thought about changing it out for the track. Is there a consensus on different coolants for the track?

Side question, anyone tried the water based for the super charger?

*** I live in Phoenix so freezing isn't an issue.

I've run Water Wetter and distilled water only on off-road vehicles with success. Nothing dissipates heat better than plain water. I would change it a couple of times a year. Of course, there is no freeze protection. But I would not mix Water Wetter or similar with regular coolant. I've read and seen pictures of the two reacting and causing a hell of a mess in radiators.

I run Redline Water Wetter and a 60/40 water/dexcool mixture. If freeze protection isn't required, then you could increase the water percentage in the intercooler circuit. Just don't forget about corrosion protection even if boil over and freezing isn't an issue.

I've never seen Redline Water Wetter in the correct amounts react with glycol based coolant. I ran above for 4-years and 18,000 miles with over 50 track events.

So straight water is better than coolant? I live in middle Tennessee a winter will soon be upon us but starting in mid June to mid Sept it gets miserably hot and humid a plain water/distilled is better than Anti Freeze?

Straight water dissipates heat better than anything else. BUT, it offers no corrosion protection or freeze protection. You would want to add something like Water Wetter for the corrosion protection in the correct ratio. But you are still left with zero freeze protection.

Glycol provides freeze protection and has a higher boilover point. Going from a 50/50 mixture to 40/60 decreases the boiling point from 265 F to 260 F.

I have seen water temps as high as 253 F on long track sessions on hot days. I would leave headroom and not go below a 40 glycol/60 water mixture.

Winter? Brother, what winter ? That's nuthin' compared to the 7-8 feet of snow from November to April I had to deal with in the Northeast... it's all relative I guess

I just use the 50/50 premix, although more distilled water would probably work a bit better.
