I picked up a second set of rims off ebay and put Ice-X them for my wifes car. I have Sottozeros on OEM rims for my SS.

True winter tires make a huge difference. Keeping the car looking original with OEM rims and tires sizes makes it suck less.

Its an investment to get the second set of tires/rims but the positive is your good for many years and your summer rims stay perfect

I got a set of Continental DWS 06 for all-weather and cold weather driving - not so much for snow. I've only had them on for a couple hundred miles.
They feel better in the cold than the GY F1 run flats but I'm not convinced that they'll be equal to the Goodyears for warm weather handling. Time will tell.

For those that have a separate set of wheels for their AS / winter tires, what you do about TPMS, is there a recommended product for that or you just turn it off or whatever?

Bought a second set of TPMS for the other set of wheels. Not cheap.

You can buy a 2nd set of sensors and have your tire shop clone them so they are duplicates of the originals.

I just put 265/40/19 Michelin Pilot Alpin on my car and they are better than the stock Goodyears under 50 degrees or so. The ride is softer too, went from 30 to 40 series tires. Also, the grip is far more predictable, the stock tires can get sketchy under 50 degrees. Have not driven in snow yet, but I am looking forward to it!

TPMS in the second isn't cheap as stated and you need a tool to pair that to the car, too. I've run winters with no TPMS (in my Mustang) all it does it trip the idiot light on the dash and even then that took almost 30 minutes of driving to get it to pop.

Discount tire direct aftermarket TPMS $60 ea.
Tirerack aftermarket $30 ea.
Not sure yet on installation price.

Firestone Winterforce 225/60/18 on Drag 37 wheels. Worked great on my 2013 LT, 2015 SS now on the 2019 SS. No adapters!
