It's especially painful when you end up having to rent a white soccer mom town and country mini-van while waiting!

I'm getting closer to a decision and maybe before the Holley fest.

Yes. Just now brought it home. Something isn't right. I have left a voicemail for the Edelbrock Camaro guy "Topher" and am awaiting a call back. I'll go ahead and post what's going on here to see what feedback you guys may have.

ASE certified shop did the install, and it's a good shop. However they left two plug wires a little loose on the passenger side since they had to remove that manifold. They thought at first plug gap was too big as it was misfiring under light and heavy load both. So they pulled all plugs and plugs were all black as black gets. They put new plugs in and gapped to .035" instead of the stock .040". Car seemed to then run good then on a quick test drive.

So I leave to come home in it and perform multiple test runs on the way home. This is with Edelbrock's 93 octane tune flashed to the car which is the only fuel I run (top tier like shell or chevron). Sometimes on a 3000 rpm roll-on the car literally feels slower than stock. At other times it comes on strong. When it decides it wants to come on strong it pulls as I would expect it to pull. But way too many times it feels like it has a boat anchor tied to it and then all of a sudden it will come alive and pull like mad say at 5,000 rpms.

The SC belt is nice and tight. I see nothing visibly wrong on an inspection in my garage. Any ideas? I can post an acceleration video if it might help. Let me upload it to YouTube and I will put it here.

I know it's very hard to decipher or understand what it is doing from this video, as you really have to feel it riding in the car. But something is very obviously wrong when sometimes it feels literally slower than stock, and other times it pulls strong as hell.

Return it to the installer, they surely did something wrong.

Yep, something is up there. It's almost like the bypass valve isn't functioning properly; vacuum line to the bypass solenoid(?). Otherthoughts; tune didn't get installed correctly, or other wiring issues.

As a test, try tuning all of the nannies off. Push and hold the traction control for 10+ seconds while in track mode. See if that helps.

When I read the stock tune it said it read successfully, however the ignition turned off right after it finished reading the stock file and while it was saving the file to the device. The radio stayed on however and i let it finish. It said it saved it successfully. Then I sent to Edelbrock, they modified and sent it back, and it flashed to the car successfully and cranked up after install also with no issues. That's my only thought on what could have gone wrong with the tune. I didn't know at the time to press and hold the start button for 8 seconds so the ignition would not turn off during a flash. I did this correctly (8 second hold) when flashing the new file to the car just prior to taking the car down for the install however.

Is the bypass the silver round thing on the front passenger side?

I will try the competition mode test tomorrow morning when I can find a break in the weather. It's pouring down rain now. :(

It took Edelbrocks tuner 5 tries to get my tune right. Seems pretty flawless now, but shifts hard every once in a while (auto). Still thinking of taking her to Futral Motorsports and have it re-tuned and dyno'd. Maybe go small pulley (7.5 psi) and better air intake.

Just be glad you have a manual transmission....lol. These new direct injection engines are not as simple to tune as the old LS motors and the 8 speed can really throw a wrench in the works. The shift points in tour mode are completely different than track mode for instance and I'll bet it is a nightmare to try to get them all right....

Well I am emailing back and forth with them and checking a few things. They think the ECM file SHOULD be good based on an initial analysis of it but I am to send them my stock file again (will be doing that). They said it could indeed be a sticking boost bypass valve also causing the symptoms. Since they are now closed until Monday, can one of you unplug your MAF sensor wiring harness that they provided and let me know if you have a pin in the far left socket where I have a missing one? It's something they told me to check but by the time I had emailed this picture they had closed for the day. So just curious if mine is normal or not?

Yes, the silver canister is the bypass actuator.

When you are test driving this weekend, try cruising at a steady speed in a lower gear and see if you get any surging. If it feels like its rocking back and forth on power, it may be another indicator of the actuator not behaving right. You may have to play around with this.

On my Audi, I've added a weak spring across my wastegate actuator for diagnostic purposes to check for functionality. If you're bold, you could try the same trick on the bypass actuator.

Honestly, I'm spit balling here, so take all this with a grain of salt. It could be any number of things. Be patient and you'll get it figured out.
