An Aston would be an awsome car. They have some of the best lines of any car including Ferrari's. I'm sure the Honda is a detailer's showpiece of your handiwork. If you leave the site after your lucky nephew gets it, we're going to miss your input.

Well they towed my baby away, could not get it to jump start. They showed up in under 20 minutes from the time I called GM. Great tow driver, very careful, really good at what he does. So far amazing service, now lets hope the dealer can get me going asap. Flaps

Why do batteries fail after only 3900 miles?
Well, it could be a bad battery, but also, how do you drive only 3900 miles in 13 months? Man, if I lived in the land of no winter, I would drive my Camaro more like 39,000 miles in 13 months. |

The batteries are not failing. There is something in the system the drains the battery. The batteries are AGM batteries and are high-quality. And many of us drive 4000 miles in 13 months, I have about six different things that I can drive and/or ride, so my car doesn't get used all the time. Only for fun when I want to. |

Here ya go
We drive it on fun trips mostly, have another car to take daily to work, on the lousy roads to work, but the Camaro does get driven every other day at least or so, to and from shopping, dinner, and some road trips , short but planned and fun.

Are you guys just letting the car sit or do you have it hooked up to a battery tender? I would assume a battery tender would solve this issue and extend the life of the battery. Well not solve the GM issue but at least keep the car charged.

Of course many of us are using a tender, and you're right it solves the problem. However there are many others that are in some type of garage or condo facility that don't have power going to the car. Those of the ones that get dead. The problem is you shouldn't have to use a tender, and Chevrolet admits that. Every car has to passthe test of at least a car sitting at the parking garage at the airport and make it 4 weeks… That's a given....if it doesn't pass that test you got a problem and Chevy lawsuits. |

Not denying the possibility or likelihood of parasitic loss although it does seem to be hit or miss where as some owners never experience the issue and others run into this nightmare.
Another thing I wanted to bring up though is the assumption that the battery is only 13 months old... or basically only as old as when you got the car .. and this .. isn't true. The battery has been sitting under the hood uncharged for the most part ever since the car was constructed and sitting months at the lot with only a few short test drives...its very possible even for a new battery to die on the lot before you even buy it, and once it does even if they jump it, its life span is severely weakened. |

Dead battery = done battery. Oh you might revive it, but it's performance and lifespan are greatly reduced, then they fail. Car still needs to be thoroughly checked. Load test, starter amp draw test, parasitic loss, and all those wonderful grounds that GM does so haphazardly. Some even have front to back batt cables fail. -------------- Why is Discharging a Car Battery Too Far So Bad? Even though 80 percent of the capacity remains when a car battery dips to around 10.5 volts, the battery is considered to be fully discharged because taking the cycle any deeper will cause irreversible damage the plates through excessive sulfation. While normal sulfation is reversible, excessively draining a battery, or leaving it in a state of discharge, will allow the soft lead sulfate to crystallize. At that point, charging the battery will still cause some of the sulfation to reverse, but any crystallized lead sulfate will remain on the plates. This sulfate cannot, under normal circumstances, return to a solution in the electrolyte, which permanently reduces the available output of the battery. The other detrimental effect of allowing crystallized lead sulfate to form is that it effectively shortens the lifespan of the battery in an empirically measurable way. If too much of this crystallization is allowed to occur, the battery will no longer be able to provide enough amperage to start the engine, and it will have to be replaced. https://www.lifewire.com/car-batteri...-to-die-534765 7
