Late to the game really has its penalties! 10k over most paid 10k or more under from late 2017 to 2019 and we are enjoying very little depreciation at the moment. I would never buy now knowing that my MSRP was 67,341 and got it for 59,999 this is a 20k plus swing in price even at MSRP. unbelievable how bad things have gotten. With high gas prices I see the market coming down soon people will not be able to afford to drive them and they will sell so the market will be flooded once again. 100 to 150 or a (tank and a 1/2 a week) to fill up heck that's a 4 banger car payment couple that to a 80k dollar car or $1100 to $1500 plus car payment making it near 2k a month to operate counting insurance.

here is the price calculator at Chevy current offer of 1.9% for 60 mos. for a 77k car. vs me and the credit union in Aug 2017 at 1.6% for 81 mos.

The scary thing is I passed on several zl1's at 56k I couldn't do mosiac blk or that reddish maroon (garnet red)

I got my 2018 ZL1 1 owner with 12k mikes right at your 2017 purchase price.. in January of this year. Granted my interest rate is not what your is lol.. but it’s possible you just have to hunt. I forgot that also included a $2500 extended warranty on top of the original manufacturers that’s still intact for a little longer I believe, the huge difference here being BRAND NEW vs 5 years old and 12k miles… haha it is crazy what the market has done

Camaros are typically sold at MSRP around my area. The only chevy vehicles sold above MSRP at my dealers are Corvettes and ZR2 Silverados.

Agreed, crazy how the market has turned. Everyone got a refresher course of how supply and demand works.

Keep in mind the impact of inflation. $1 in 2018 = $1.16 in 2022. So, $60,000 in 2018 is really $69,600 today. Scary how much inflation is playing a role in such a short period of time. Like you said, I remember when ZL1s were accumulating on the lots and discounted in the $58k range and now they just received a $3900 price increase for 2023 plus ADM in some markets.

I had to pay MSRP for my 2021 ZL1, less $500 Educator rebate but I got strong money for my trade which help offset. Without a trade, I don't think I could have done it.

Things have changed a lot lately, and not for the better. Some have been priced out of ZL1s, and some were lucky enough to get one while they could afford them.

You can either swing it now, or you can't. While I regret not grabbing one sooner, not buying solely because it was cheaper yesterday than it is today seems like odd motivation to me.

A ZL1 is a bad financial decision period, resale will never be high enough to keep you whole in the end. What about those that never intent to sell one of the last manual V8's to be made? Resale is moot.

I will say, you ZL1 owners saying the car isn't worth its current price(you wouldn't buy one) make me wonder if the ZL1 is all it's hyped to be. I'm betting it's still well worth the price.

It's still the fastest car at that price but I'd lean towards a 355 ferrari when closing in on 80k. I have an idea of a 355 w the new flatplane corvette engine can you imagine an extra 300hp NA in a 2976 lb car or maybe in an old Testarossa. Keep the sound lose the maintenance cost. Like every gm motor they all been offered as complete setup w comp and trans.
