Are you aware about OnStar

I don't know if you are aware , but with the basic plan (comes with the car) that for $5.00 per month you can add on OnStar security which allows if the car is stolen they can disable the car. I don't need on star, but for $5 per month to be able to locate and disable the car if stolen is something I can use. You have to wait until the free 3 months expires before you can sign up. Taxes are .41 in Texas. They will bill you every month, so you have to have a card on file.

If I'm not mistaken its $25 a month, $5 more a month than the bottom plan.

OnStar can be used to stop a vehicle regardless of the owner's OnStar enrollment.

Once the vehicle is reported stolen to the Police the Police can ask OnStar to remotely activate OnStar and disable the vehicle once its located and they attempt to stop it.

More importantly OnStar try's their best to hid and conceal OnStar capabilities and the dissemination of your data.

After the initial 3 months, you give them a call and ask for the stolen vehicle Assistance $5/month. It is an OnStar Basic Add On billed monthly. it is one of those well hidden add on. "PLAN ADD-ONS" Enhance your OnStar experience by adding individual services to your Basic Plan. Trust me.

Yeah, they also know when you hit 150 MPH in Mexico

Consider that.

With cars that now can watch your face to see if you're paying attention, use your onboard GPS and computer systems for convenience...Can now also be used to track, monitor speed, and more than likely if wanted, watch what you're doing.

I don't even want to know where we'll be in 50+ years.

I don't think this is 100% accurate, if the vehicle does not have an active OnStar acct even the police cant get OnStar to stop the vehicle with their request.

Onstar can be turned on/off at GM's whim.
Even if your not paying them they are still actively connected to your vehicle so they can gather information.
