So I could buy something like this and it would improve the suds from the foam cannon?

https://www.amazon.com/RIDGE-Cannon-...7PNLNMN4&psc=1

My foam cannon didn't come with an extra nozzle, so that's an entirely new concept to me. It's plenty foamy, but the more the better!

I wouldn't use a nozzle narrower than 40 degrees on paint, just to be safe.

The smaller inner diameter nozzle helped here, it made the foaming action even more, hm, prolific, with the same pressure washer and foamer.

Now, I do realize the amount of foam and cleaning power don't necessarily correlate, but thick sticky suds look so good

Well, they really do correlate...the point of the foam cannon is to create a mixture that lingers on the paint to help loosen up whatever contaminants are there. A "foam gun" that just uses the regular hose and some shampoo is less effective because there's too much water and it all just runs off too quickly.

Thank you for posting this though - it's going on my Amazon wish list. More foam!!

I think one major thing that everyone overlooks with the 1.1 orifice on the foam cannon is that it causes your machine to work harder and draw more current. Depending on what your pressure washer is rated for, this could shorten it's life or even trip your breaker if you are on a 15 amp circuit and the 1.1 orifice causes a draw of over 15 amps. Most pressure washers it will be okay, but not all, so I think this is worth mentioning, especially for cheaper electric pressure washers that already have a sub 100 hour life at best.

I use a 1.25 orifice on my foam cannon and I get excellent thick foam. To truly get more foam, it's far more important to have a pressure washer that can pump out higher GPM than anything else. Ideally you want to be at 2.0 but generally most recommend a minimum of 1.3 GPM.

Yeah, that's what we're compensating for with the 1.1 orifice, my pressure washer only cranks out 1.4 GPM. We'll see how long it lasts, it's been running fine for a year and a half.

Also, the 1.1 only gets used for foaming, which is only a few minutes during a wash, that's the only time the electric unit may be slightly overworked.

I'll be honest, as much as I loved my pressure washer (Subaru 3100PSI model), I probably loved my Spotless DI system even more. Washing my car at home (when I was in a home) was fantastic. I could spend more time washing the car and less time drying it. Not having to deal with the sun drying the hard water was great. Griot's Garage makes a similar tool. I have the Spotless system below. The 2nd video is a good video that I found that shows results. It's even narrated in a British accent, in case you like nature videos.

And below are my pre/post results.

Just in case anyone wants to jump into the pressure washer fray, this is a decent price. https://slickdeals.net/f/15713284-su...?src=frontpage
I personally prefer at least 3000 PSI for use around the house. My pressure washer was rated at 3100 and was great for cleaning up the concrete around the house. It also did a good job with cleaning my garage door.

I have the same one for about 6 months now. Just realize they use a different fitting vs the industry standard. ** I want to say they use a 15mm vs the normally 14mm/m22 fittings. also, the hose they come with suck ass. Spend the $ and get a 50' flexzilla hose. Or if you want to save a few $, I've heard the uberflex hose is just as good. Ive just used flexzilla for my air lines in the past and love how they don't kink up. I also use them for my regular water hose plus the hose for my soft water tank to pressure water. the pressure gun is all personal preference, just don't use/get 1 with a wand. Those r useless.

Edit:
These are the parts I changed out.

Thanks for the info. Any issue with this being too strong? Do you use the 40 degree tip?

No. Good or bad, electric pressure washers don't get THAT strong. Atleast compared to a gas powered pressure washer. Still wouldn't put my hand infront of the water though. Lol

I usually use the white or green tip. I think the green is 25* and I use that for the wheels / wheel wells. Then swap to the white for the rest. Or if I get lazy, I just keep the 25* green one on. I'm spraying a solid 2 feet away so im not worried about it being to strong.

I accidentally hit the back of my hand from about 5 inches with my 2150 psi max electric washer using the green tip a couple weeks ago... only for half a second, yet it messed up the tissue under the skin, and the pooled blood took a week or so to dissipate. Gotta still be careful, electric or not. And my stupid a** should always remember to put some gloves on.

When you are using a pressure washer for car cleaning you want to be around 1000psi.
Use a 40degree tip. If your pressure washer is giving you high PSI then get a new tip with a larger orifice in it.
You would need to experiment with it but if you have something that is around 1600psi you would want to use something like a 2.5mm orifice to bring it down to 1000psi.
Car washing gallons per min is more important for washing it off. So as you drop the PSI with the larger orifice that will also up your GPM of the unit making it better for rinsing off the car.

I just recently installed this dedicated detailing pressure washer set up in my garage.
It is the Active VE52 pressure washer that does 1000PSI and 2gpm
I am using the MTM hydro 40degree 4mm orifice tip on the unit.
