Yes, the one that threads into the front of the camaro.

In my case, I'm using a ZL1addons tow bar/hook. The one that comes with the car is larger in diameter and no threads in the end, just a loop of round stock.

The results from my modified grille take out leaves the grille intact, closes up the hole that would otherwise left open if the grille takeout were left out.

I like leaving the rod in without the license plate holder because I live in a state that requires all vehicles to sport a front license plate. I like the front of the Camaro without a front plate.

So if I get stopped for no front plate, I may be able to avoid a ticket if I can just go to the trunk and put it on.

The last picture is of the grille takeout installed with the tow rod installed. I have a black cap screw to put in it to protect the threads, not shown, but I think I'll look for some push pins that would could be just pried out with a screwdriver.

Anyway, here are some pictures.
Thanks for posting that!

Tracked my car for the first time. Surprised how large the cover is!

I like your approach and plan to copy it. Can I ask specifically what ZL1 tow hook you used and can you confirm the hook (not license plate holder) fits without making contact with the bumper?

Thanks in advance and great post!

Not sure what you mean by "not making contact with bumper", but you will have to modify the grille take out for it to fit with the tow bar installed.

Did the mod this weekend. Thanks OP!

Couldn’t find my dremel so used a hacksaw on the sides and then razor blade on the front edge with a little heat. Lastly, used a curved file to match the curvature of the bar. Came out clean.

I’ll probably just leave the tow hook on permanently.
