I don't disagree about Michelin making a great tire as I have almost always ended up switching to them on my cars, though.
They also come in runflat form these days. On the other hand, people have started saying the PS4S is somehow tangibly inferior for track duty, you aren't the first here with this opinion... well, definitely not in comparison to stock SS (not 1LE, not ZL1, not ZL1 1LE) tires, the controversial Goodyear runflats which this thread is about.

If someone wants all season tires, then they need to go buy them. Plain and simple. If tires stand in the way of anyone buying one of these cars then they couldn't afford it in the first place.
Then maybe GM could consider changing the way they and tires work. People legitimately want to drive their stock SS and not die or be forced to crawl in the right lane at 35 when caught in a downpour, for example.

This could even be a source of competitive advantage, having a selection of available tires that customers want instead of a single mandatory option.

No offense GearheadSS. Reasonable people can disagree.

Last thought on the subject.

If GM's R&D/Marketing is competent and has their finger on the pulse of what consumers want, why did they develop and market an arguably superior car to the Mustang only to get their butt's kicked when it came to sales?

The question answers itself.

You guys are just spitballing this crap and you have no idea the hoops and cost involved for GM to do these things. It's a dead car, it's never going to happen....period. End of story.

If you want all weather tires, go buy them. FFS

Never said it would happen. To me a lack of attention to what buyers want is why the Camaro will soon be dead, and I did ‘go buy them’.

i don't think i've ever owned just one set of wheels & tires for any of my vehicles. ever. ranging from pickup trucks to econoboxes. it is my experience that there is not a tire capable of doing everything well. i was always in the camp of changing wheels/tires to suit the task (or season) at hand.

hell even my dd beater mazda 6 has pilot sports on it that i swap out for snow tires in the winter.

edit: tallying extra wheels/tires

mazda 2 sets
jeep 3 sets + 1 without tires
camaro (sold) 1 set + 2 rear tires
corvette none yet but our relationship is still young haha

at one point i had 4 sets of wheels/tires for the camaro.

2 summer
1 drag
1 winter

and i didn't even drive the car in the winter but i needed some tires for it to sit on

LOL! Over the years I've been that way too.

I have four sets of wheels and tires for my Z and none of them are winter/snow tires. I've also have two sets each of wheels and tires for my daily driver Dodge Durango and my wife's Pacifica. So far I don't have an extra set for my Camaro, but I've only had it less than a year.

So, I have a 23 LT1 vert M6. It already comes with 245/40R20 all-season Goodyear eagle, run-flat tires. they seem to be better then the summer tires that the SS come with.

I was thinking of buying a 2nd set of SS wheels (8.5" fronts and 9.5" rears) and go up to 265/295.Michelin PS4-S non run-flat.

I wonder if I will notice any difference for spirited driving.
any thoughts?
