GM to Purchase It's Own Transport Trucks

GM is purchasing 400 vehicle transport trucks to help resolve shipping issues with vehicles already produced. I'm not sure how much this issue currently impacts the Camaro like it once did, but apparently GM is tired of delays caused by third party shippers.

Pretty much where my mind went right away as well except that I also added in the fact that the delays are caused by the -companies-, they're caused by a driver shortage. So, once GM buys all these trucks, they will have to pay top dollar to attract drivers which will cause further issues with shipping delays elsewhere because they'll be solving their own problem and causing issues for everyone else.

Oh... And the prices of their cars will go up yet again to cover these significant additional costs.

Just wait until UPS negotiates this new contract. Top wages for truck drivers are about to go even higher, especially for unionized. Some of these kids freeloading at home may want to start eyeing trucks when they hear the numbers being thrown out no education required

Price of your cars just went up. Again.

The cost on this plus the hiring, training, onboarding, its a long way's off from making any kind of an impact. But that's kind of why you contract that shit out, you force your contractor to deal with all that. Or not renew the contract, or terminate if but this taking it inhouse will be months if not a year before you see an impact. Presuming it's "better".
