So the converter doesn’t automatically lock after a certain rpm?

Seems like you’d get the best performance with it lock after about 5k rpm when at the strip

Drives like stock. No issues at all. Its a basic heads, cam, intake setup with a Circle D 4C converter.

Currently, it does not. We are still working through that.

Like you already know, e85 is the best bang for the buck. I can sure tell when I put pump 93 back in. LOL

Yeah, it's pretty frustrating. The closest pump is in the next state over or several hundred miles away. Watching everyone get these great numbers using E85 leaves me rather disappointed that I can't get it.

Got some doubters...
How can you have doubters. I have made those numbers three times now. You can't doubt the cars performance. It boggles my mind that people still don't understand these cars. Brandon has been laying it down since day one. The package and times are repeatable. We have not yet begun to get silly with this platform.

Simple math will prove the combo.

You are the quickest and fastest @ 10.16. 134mph.
3700 raceweight.

It takes 695ish flywheel hp to move that weight to that et and speed.
695 minus 17-18 percent driveline loss is 570 range.

Awesome job Brandon. Interesting thing is we tuned the car at the track remotely and we haven’t touched it. This is the tune it runs daily , and it’s run 134 out the back without even locking the converter!

So you're trying to tell me that if you know a cars weight, the condition it ran in and what it trapped you can backwards calculated what it makes power wise? Preposterous, math has no place on the internet. Applying science to prove a cars performance is insane. Since my friends car can't do it in Denver it is all voodoo sorcery and lies.

Great job guys. Keep at it.

LOL! I need some of that voodoo on my car. Mods are down the road for me. Need to make some more payments first and get some kids out of the house. Nice numbers to the OP, one day I shall be part of the 500 club and maybe even the 600 club.

Driveline loss is 12-14%
Generally the Lt1 is dynoing at 390 - 400hp.

lt1 is under rated with it's SAE rating of 455

there is not an automatic transmission in the world that has a 12% drivetrain loss. a 12% loss is pretty good for a manual transmission.... if the a8 has a 12% drivetrain loss, it is the greatest thing to happen to the automotive industry since gasoline

manuals are usually in the low teens... automatics are usually in the upper teens/low twenties sometimes.
