Exhaust opinions needed!
Not happy with my SW so I am switching to Borla.
My 16 SS has the factory NPP but I ordered a borla s-type 11920 without the valves trying so save some money (and their NPP aren't shipping these days). I planned to either run without the valves or have a local shop take the factory valves and weld them to these new mufflers. Lots of searching here but can't find the answers to a few questions. Anyone running the quad tip without the NPP and have feedback on drone? For those that have the valves but have pulled the fuse, is there any drone? See any flaws with adding the factory valves to these mufflers? Thanks! |

Just suck it up and buy the right NPP Borla version. You're going to spend just as much trying to rig it up and then you will regret it.

In for updates.
Just ordered the s-type quad-tip without NPP as well with x-pipe and would love to hear some feedeback.

My concern is really just the drone issue. I know they won't drone with the valves. Just curious about without the valves. Thanks |

Agreed on the rattle. I am opening a warranty claim on my Axle Back because my valves rattle. |

I have the Borla Stype with NPP but I leave the valves open all the time, no drone. I even went further and added their mid pipes and still no drone, you'll be fine. I'd just leave it as is and see how you like it before trying to modify it. I never close my valves, only reason why I got the NPP option when I got mine was to maintain the functionality because I already had the NPP.

I have the Borla Atak with the secondary cat delete mid pipe. It's amazing and I do not regret my purchase what so ever!!! It was expensive, but the sound is worth it alone. I have the non NPP quad tips and the drone is non existent for me. You just get a nice deep V8 burble. I love it!!!

If you're going to do an exhaust without NPP then look in to MBRP. Has a better design for a deeper sound and no drone.

I have the borla catback. No drone and honestly it's really quiet when you want it to be. Buying NPP valves or welding them on would be a waste of money. I'm surprised you're not happy with Stainless Works. What happened?
