1/4mile slips from Sunday
Test and Tune at Dragway 42 in Ohio. Track was slick and my clutch really wasn't liking the abuse it was getting (stock clutch and high miles on it). Here are the slips from my faster times that I didn't completely butcher(such as the 18 second pass I had that my clutch got cooked on and sucked the pedal to the floor). Obviously I still need a lot of work on my 60', but I couldn't hardly leave the line at any sort of high rpm as the track was pretty slick and then when I gave it more rpms thats when it cooked the clutch. I just ordered a new clutch too.

You have some decent times in there. Congrats.
Which clutch are you going with, stock or aftermarket?

I went with an aftermarket one, got a Monster Co. Single Disc. Didn't really want to risk a stock clutch with how much I plan to race this year. Car definitely has a lot of potential when I get my new clutch and can really work on getting that 60' down more with out worrying about the clutch.
I treed one guy, Ill have to find my slip. I only ran a 12.90 to his 12.50 but he fell asleep at the light. |

Yeah I am pretty much right there with you. I went to the track for the first time about 3 weeks ago (actually I made a post here about it), and my best 60' time was 2.00 so I have a lot of work to do if I intend to get better. Sounds like you are headed the right direction. Good luck!

Yea, my 60' has always been around a 2.1-2.2. It's not good but considering the track prep this past weekend I think when I go to Norwalk and have a good track i should be able to get down atleast close to where I should be.

You get those 60's under control, that a low 12 second car. Not too shabby. Keep up the good work.

I enjoyed the post and the time slips. Hope to see you at the track I live in Ohio too. 42 never preps the track well so times at Summit Motorsports Park will definitely be much better.

With some sticky tires and a 1.8 60', you'd be in the 11's. Impressive for the mods you have.

Yea, 42 has never really prepped well. But the reason Im not going to be going there for a little bit is because they have POT HOLES at the end of the track. When Im dodging potholes at 100mph, im not very happy. I can live with an unprepped track, I can't live with dodging potholes. Ill give them a little bit to get that fixed, then try again later on, maybe mid-late next month. Til then it will be all Norwalk. If you go to Norwalk im sure Ill see you sometime this year, I plan to race a lot throughout the summer.

Yea, I was REALLY hoping my clutch could handle it. But I was expecting the worst as its got 70k miles on it now and I have not been nice to it. Would have been nice to put that money into some subframe/cradle bushings and the cosmetic stuff I want to do but its a part of the game. Its not cheap but its in my blood and I love it. And im sure when I get the clutch something else will need replace whether it be axles, driveshaft or driver lol.
