The real distinction between a "refresh" and truly new car is going to be determined by what we don't yet know that is hiding under that sheet metal. Hopefully, they put enough engineering into it to set it apart from the pack, because that's what it's gonna take. It's gonna have to be an awesome performer. |

It's also a little bit of a slap in the face to lure people to Michigan for tomorrow's big "reveal" and already popped the top of the cake off to show it early.
Feel sorry for some that have travelled many miles to get the "first glimpse" only to be shown yesterday's news...literally. Sure, you'll get more details on the car, but the air is out of the anticipation balloon. Of course there will be more details to follow, but trust this...THIS IS THE CAR! The people who try to shrug off that this is faked and they will reveal a totally different car tomorrow, will be terribly disappointed to learn the 2016 Camaro has already been revealed. GM just punked you guys going to Saturday's "reveal". I mean, it's always a nice thing to have a Camaro gathering, but that was also a little back-handed to have people expect they'd get a first-hand public look. Styling is very important. How it drives? If anything we know about GM cars, is that they KNOW Camaro owners expect the car to drive a certain way so I doubt that will be a concern. So in this case, style is 98%.

I really hope pricing is announced soon.
By the way, they did this same thing before.. Remember when they revealed the 5.5 gens on TV and we all thought the reveal was ruined? And they ended up revealing the Z/28 the next day. I'm not saying we're gonna see a Z/28 tomorrow, but it wouldn't surprise me if GM has something special in store.

Apparently people missed the whole "Phil LeBeau from CNBC is actually INSIDE a 6th gen being driven around by the PRESIDENT OF GM NORTH AMERICA" part of this segment. Obviously GM orchestrated this whole thing.

If it was it doesn't make any sense, to me, anyway. Why spoil your own reveal? I don't understand that.

And it starts with "hey guys! Yeah, that wasn't the real 6th gen yesterday. We just wanted to generate more buzz with some crappy renders we did a few months back. Here " *camo cover is pulled off with a florish* "is the 6th gen!" *applause, oohs, ahhs* |

I feel the same way. It's almost as if I've been let off of the hook for knowing I'd have to have the 6th Gen.

Motor Trend says the reveal was accidental. Maybe somebody can ask tomorrow.
