a 12V air compressor and a tire plug kit has been my go-to. I keep a plug kit (<$10) in every vehicle.

if you lose the bead or tear a sidewall, you get to sit in a tow truck.

like being self sufficient and don’t rely on waiting for triple A, a tow truck or slime working. I have my 2024 factory GM take off 20” aluminum wheels with run flats and threw one in the trunk along with a scissor jack. I still have 3 more if there’s anyone on Long Island interested in doing the same and saving shipping.

I've actually thought about this too. Hoping to get new wheels and tires soon, and I'd considered just throwing one of the front wheel/tires in the trunk when I go out of town. Also looked at modern spare, which takes up less space, but does cost some money. How much room do you have in the trunk after you put a wheel in there!?

It takes up a good amount but can still fit a couple of grocery bags around it and small stuff on top. Realistically you can fit more in the back seats since they are otherwise useless. Raining here so car is covered otherwise I could snap a pic.
